Good fresh quality produce. Tuna, scallops, wagyu, chicken, truffle all very fresh, only let down was the fish as it was over cooked. Paris mash also a winner. The venue speaks for itself - awesome. We were lucky enough to get one of 5 tables that are window and facing the Harbour bridge. Service is good, wine list is pretty extensive.

Great concept, great menu. But as you know its not much value at all and when you get staff that dont want to be proud of their jobs... this place should be avoided. I think Bacco should hire staff from overseas and maybe the place may do a bit better.

The senior staff I guess was blocking the entrance while having a chat with other patrons, so we waited in front of him, waiting waiting for him to move out of the way so we could enter the restaurant.

Very modern trendy out lay of the place. Interesting cutlery and very uncomfortable timber chairs. We didn't order sparkling water, but one of the waiters just helped him self to pouring it into our water glass and what dosen't help is when a different waiter adds tap water into our glass. So we were drinking sparkling tap water.

However, food was amazing, Gnocchi in consomme was the winner, very intense flavour and Gnocchi was interesting. The Mandarin sphere was the winner for the desserts. Mains were all cooked and presented perfect.

Abit of French, abit of inspiration from Heston Blumenth. Good reason to ramp the price up on all the food.

Nice water view and all that romantic set up... but the wait staff are a bit stuck up and just didn't do it for me and my partner. As we were about to arrive to the front of the eating area, we were greeted with "are you guys right there?". Hello a few more steps we would of been in the water. What do you think we were here for? Collecting water samples?

There were 3 couples/groups already waiting and the waiter/manager seemed to notice me and my partner approaching and not them so what happen was. The waiter/manager stopped serving his table and told them to wait a sec while he sorted out us and the 3 other parties. They give you plenty of time to eat and talk so plenty of time :)

Food - Seared scallops and the Pork belly were the winners. Beef tenderloin was a bit chewy and pretty small. Baked ocean trout was thin so it cooked all the way through. A bit of a waste for such a nice piece of fish. A bit the grape fruit fennel that comes with it is getting a bit boring. Souffle was the winner for the dessert. Price = paying for view not food.

The place is not too crowded so its perfect for a romantic dinner. Food is awesome. 3 courses for $86..Raw king fish/prawns and serrano and Grilled scallops as entrees, Fresh and decent size. The Tenderloin was superb. Even without the sauce, so much flavour and very tender. Thyme souffle was interesting and a winner for the night.

Quite alot to choose from on the menu and prices are ok. $140 for the Degus..
Service was ok, depending on who came around to serve you. Would definitely return for the food.

Had lunch here, 1st customers to get in., some wait staff don't speak and understand english, had our order put down wrong and to top it, they couldn't find out bill, so I just told them we just had 2 roti's. Nice roti, dips that come with them are full of flavour. Prices are reasonable, shame that the service is just like chat thai, budget wait staff.

Place looks good. Food looks and taste good but portions are very small, so I would call it a fancy place to eat, wouldn't come here often though.

eg $10 for agedashi tofu, literally 6 pieces 2x2x2cm with a heap of garnish and a pool of dashi stock. My mocktale was 60%ice and 40% liquid. Prices are high, service is good. Sure lives up to the Surry hills atmosphere.

Came here on a weeknight and its was a pretty good experience. Its a small restaurant with plenty on choice.

This place isn't 5 star, but for what you pay and you get much more than expected. My rocket/proscuitto entree was pretty good, fresh cut proscuitto and rocket with an interesting dressing, black olive oil I think, fillet a generous size cut and very tender, with a good amount of spinach, potato and sauce (forgot type). My partners salmon was cooked perfect with skin super crispy and the salmon just flaking off, coming with salmon roe and cucumber. The cream caramel was ok.

Well done to the wait staff, service is prompt/timed well and friendly. The place certainly has some energy as its a small place and noise does travel. Will definitely return.

I'm only speaking for the tue/wed deg menu for $48. Flavour flavour flavour! all dishs were flavour packed. 7 dish including dessert. The duck and dessert was the most outstanding, perfectly roasted duck (meat was rare and juicy, skin was crisp) and dessert was coconut ice shaving with passion fruit custard. Value is amazing for a tue/wed, not sure about other days, definitely will come back.

Open and indoor cafe style place, pretty standard. We ordered 2 pastas the bolognese and salmon pasta. Both were rich and full flavoured, heaps of oil and nice and hot (Temperature) Pasta was just abit over aldente.

I have a feeling it maybe family run and the wait staff look tired and just do what every they like. So you might get a smile if they're in a good mood or if you speak Italian, the barista/cashhandler just kicked a bucket across the room, odd but surprising. We ordered a coffee and it never came out but was added to the bill, when we addressed it, there wasn't a sorry but just a "ohh ok you didn't get it?"

Prices are abit high, as high as $24 for a pasta but as the Big blue sign states in the place as soon as you walkin on the left. Quality is always assured with arrogance included. We came here again in Jan 10, I've noticed the only reason why this place looks really busy is because its one of the only places that opens the extra long trading hours.

This time we ordered a antipasto, rocket salad, Mexicana pizza, to cut this short. All the food came out together within 20 minutes. So I'm really confused with ordering the anitpasto (This should come out first alone!) I could buy better food on the antipasto if I walked across to la monicas myself, give it a miss. The rocket salad had no oil of any kind at all, which leaves me even more confused. Fair enough the pizza was great. Dun waste your time people.
