At last an indian restaurant that is worth visiting often. the food is consistently delicious (nothing gristly, flabby, disgusting here, unlike so many other indian establishments). The staff are cheery and polite, the restaurant is clean and pleasant. I highly recommend dining here, the lamb korma is great, even the naan bread is delicious. I just hope they maintain the high standard they have set, and if they do, I'm sure they'll be around for a long time to come with many happy diners.

We used to come for the cheesecake, the servings were generous, the cake was fresh and presented beautifully. I say "used to" because we will not be going back again ever. Our dim witted waitress was busy gazing off into the distance as she took our order, and consequently, got our order wrong. We had to remind her that we were ordering for three people when she finally brought only two sets of cutlery to the table, and then out came the coffee and tea (before the food had even arrived) minus one of the coffee's that had been ordered.
Still, we knew the service has been slack here for the last couple of years, so assumed that sooner or later the missing coffee would arrive, as has often been the case before when we have come to this cafe. Eventually the cheesecakes arrived to table, each one dry and stale in texture, and so thinly slivered that the cakes were fallen on the plates, along with accompanying melted no-name style ice cream, this place is beyond a joke.
Seriously, how much thinner can they cut the slices of cake! clearly the profit margin has fallen and they are trying to save a buck to make up for less patronage (probably due to the poor waitstaff and stale, miniscule cake servings)...ah, but they do advertise cheap rocket fuel, oops, cocktails...maybe thats what they're all about now, cheap drinks and forget about the quality of the food eh? oh, and the missing coffee? when it was mentioned to the fellow operating the till, there was no apology offered, and he even saw fit to not charge for it (well, that was the arrogant attitude he put out).

"Passionately disappointed" are two words that were used by my fellow diner when discussing the meal we ordered from this restaurant, and I couldn't agree more. We ordered the lamb korma, basmati rice, and plain naan bread. The lamb korma's flavour was bland, the meat tough and gristly fat throughout. The rice was unremarkable, and the naan bread was Raw dough in parts.
And to think that I chose this place thinking that being such a new restaurant, that they would be turning out food impressive enough to lure people away from some of the other fine Indian restaurants in the shire. I'll know better in future and steer clear of this pretentiously pit.

We were greeted warmly by the very friendly and courteous staff member. It was a very chilly morning, and, having arrived early for breakfast, he went out of his way to ensure our comfort (moved the heater closer etc) and our menu order were attended to swiftly, the Big Breakfast was huge and delicious, the omelette declared the "best ever" by my fellow diner, and my banana bread, freshly squeezed juice and coffee were top notch. I cannot speak highly enough of the wonderful service and food at this cafe/restaurant.

Christmas in July lunch lured us to try this place, what a shamozzle! No food or wine list on table, had to place order "over there" (as gesticulated by waitress (??)), food was served tepid instead of hot, if you wanted vegies/gravy, you had to "get it yourself", if you wanted drinks, you had to once more "get it yourself from the bar", people wandering all about like lost sheep, not a very festive experience at all and considering the poor quality food, overpriced drinks, historic yes/but overdue for maintenance to the restaurant.
The whole place should be shut down til they get their act together and for heavens sakes, tough as little nuggets xmas puds for dessert with watery generic custard was just the final straw that ended a rotten experience had by all.

I agree with Konstantine (August) and Grapsta (July) re the temps of the coffee at Grind... they argue with me that they make it at the right temp at the time of making, but in the time it takes to add the sugar, put the lid on the cup and walk out of the shop to take the first sip, somehow, its lukewarm, still, everything else is perfecto, full bodied flavour with a robust lift, still number one coffee establishment in the shire.

Went out in this lousy wet weather to buy something really tasty for lunch, and based upon the previous review, this was the place we selected. Well, the attitude of the man in the shop was filthy (he was too busy talking to a mate to be bothered with his customers); the food was filthy and overpriced too!!
You would think that he would have been pleased to see us considering we were the only customers in his shop, and that a bit of care would have been taken in the preparation of the food...but no, not so. His attitude was more "yep yep, just give me the money and get out of here" and that was BEFORE we had even ordered anything! And while I realise that other places add the cost of condiments into the cost of the total product sold, this man actually charges similarly to the above (total cost of product) PLUS then adds extra for condiments...what a lurk!! What a rip off of an experience!!

We have eaten here three times now (certain times of the week they have 2 course/3 course specials - very affordable). Usually service is swift at this charming little restaurant, however, on our last visit, which was on New Years Eve, the staff were run off their feet, particularly in the latter part of the evening...(may I suggest to management that extra staff be put on during Christmas, New Years, etc). Even though it felt like they were shortstaffed that night, the waiters working there truly were marvellous. All things considered, they remained professionally calm, yet also friendly towards customers.
When our waiter finally arrived to take our dessert order, a sincere apology was offered by him for how long we'd had to wait, and he then ensured that dessert and coffee arrived at our table promptly.
The food? I would definitely send compliments to the chef. The ambience? Well, for starters, views from the air conditioned comfort inside (from the right table) are lovely.... overlooking North Cronulla's Dunningham Park with water glimpses. There is also an al`fresco dining area provided, beautiful on a warm summers' evening. Yes, we are looking forward to dining here again very soon. Another bonus is that this restaurant has a very good selection of wines, plus, if you wish, it is also byo ...I recommend this place to all!

Just casting my mind back to September...yes, I know..that's three months ago!!...but I think it speaks volumes that I am still thinking about this experience.. this is a restaurant we had heard so many great things about and so with bright eyes and bushy tails, oops, I mean with hungry stomachs and a full wallet, we headed off for an evening of fine dining....and we were not disappointed.
The location is spot on, with harbour views abounding, the decor is slick and elegant, the waiters....well, put it this way - they lavished such loving attention! Nothing was a problem, even "madams crumbs" (ok, I was a touch too enthusiastic with my dining experience) were lovingly cleared away with minimal fuss by these marvellous waiters...the wine? Sublime....the food? Decadent!!!...
Yes, the whole experience is one we are still savouring today, and while I admit it was a very pricey experience (well now, I suppose thats quite a subjective statement....is it REALLY expensive if you enjoyed it?), it is one that I would strongly recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy a truly memorable evening.

Drinks are overpriced but the el'cheapo $9.90 steak and chips (or mashed potato) deal (with choice of sauces e.g. peppercorn, red wine etc) is real value for money...tasty, hot and cooked per your request every time (medium, well done...whatever you like). Gets a big crowd in practically every night - ambience is happy, noisy, decor is a tad dated but still works well (for now...) and the staff are very friendly and efficient.
