Good pt: They give generous amounts of portions and tastes quite standard.
Bad pts: They give you chipped bowls and plates. They don't give you water. Their service is too slow. You must pay in cash and no splitting of bill. They removed the BBQ menu and there's no longer BBQ there. The side dishes are too small and a very poor variety of side dishes (it also appears the side dishes have been waiting there in the fridge or something for days). The rice my friend had appeared to be leftovers from yesterday as it was hard and crunchy. The beef soup was tasteless and the soup had a poor amount of beef in it.
Overall: I wouldn't return unless someone really wants to try it as it's too costly for the whole experience. I wouldn't recommend it unless you have to choose between that and fast food.

Starting off with the good things: It has really nice dim sums like baos, wo tips, dumplings, xiao long bao etc. They're all pretty scrumptious.
Bad things: Overly priced. Really really poor service, my sister accidentally broke a cup and they didn't immediately come and clean it up, they just left it there. And when they serve you, they give you really comtempt looks. Also the restaurant looks nice in the outside, but in the inside it's pretty squashy.

It's a pretty pricy Korean BBQ buffet, about $30 per person. The meat here is marinated pretty well, a lot better than a lot of Korean BBQs I've been too. I like how they came over to change our hot plate many times. It's good for events e.g. birthdays, reunions as they have big long tables.
But I don't like how there's little walking way between the tables. You always have to ask people to tuck in their chairs. And it can get pretty smoky inside.

I usually have lunch here. It's pretty cheap. It's not much of a restaurant, it's more of a self service place. Good if you want food that comes fast.

I went there for a birthday party and shared with 4 people on my side of the table (we had over 20 people there). It's situated in a busy street in the Chinatown area close to George Street (across from World Square). It has a very typical interior design with many tvs on the walls (which is a typical thing in Korean Restaurants).
We ordered crispy chicken and marinated chilli squid. I thought the portions were generous and were enough to share with 4 people (we were pretty full afterwards). They were also generous with the side dishes as well (they were pretty tolerant when we asked for side dishes). I thought the chicken was really really nice, however, the squid wasn't marinated enough. It was pretty bland I guess, despite being chilli-ed.
I thought the waiters were all really tolerant. Since we had 20 people and we were celebrating the birthday there (therefore making a lot of noise), they were really accommodating to our needs and kept smiles on their faces.
The meal was pretty pricy but I thought it was pretty worth it. It's not something I would go to on a regular basis but more of an event place to eat e.g. birthdays, celebrations etc.

I never knew it existed until my friend kept raving about it. Well no wonder, it’s situated in some back alley way adjacent to Pitt St, Sydney. Nevertheless, that back alleyway has two Korean restaurants, a mobile shop and some Karaoke place and on a busy night, it’s filled with people waiting to go into the restaurant.
Despite situated in such a dingy location, its interior design isn’t dingy at all. Well to be fair, it’s like your average Korean restaurant ie it has a brown colour theme (dunno why a lot of korean rest I’ve been too use brown), those tables with a bbq in the middle, tvs, and a buzzer system where you can call for a waiter by a press of a button on the side of the table.
The customer service is horrendous. It took them more than 5 minutes before they gave us the menus after sitting us down. And when serving us, they give you grungy looks as if we’re wearing something offensive. But maybe that’s because we didn’t order much.
And for the important bit, the food. There was much discussion as to what we were going to eat, but we went for friend’s recommendation and had BBQ. We ordered pork belly and baby octopus.
I reckon the portion was a bit too small for the price. It appeared to be the portions for one person rather than two (as noted on menu) and because we had three people we weren’t really full afterwards. It was good that they had nice side dishes that we could refill. I like the tofu and potatoes, can’t comment on the kimchi because that’s not my cup of tea.
In the end we only spent $29 for three people on the meal. With the side dishes, we were full (in the okay way). There was room for dessert, at least.
Despite all the raving my friend did, I give Madang a 2.5/5.
