As mentioned by the others, the service at this place is shocking! Went on a Wednesday night with a large group, the whole place was practically empty, and the service was still terrible. Everytime we wanted something we had to try and hunt down a staff member, drinks were forgotten, and just a friendly vibe was not present at all! The food was good though, although I'm a vegan and there seemed to be only one meal option for me! The spinach and tomato rice, pretty yummy!

On top of the poor service, the food was quite expensive too. The atmosphere and food help in making this an OK restaurant, but I've certainly been to better.

This place is simply excellent! Went on a Thursday night, nice and quiet! Service was great, staff were very friendly and efficient. Food was unbelievable, my non-vegetarian friend was certainly impressed! Meals were cheap as well, 3 courses for about $20 per person!! Great value, great service, great food, you really can't go wrong at this place!!

Upon ariving at the restaurant, my one major dilemma was finding a car park (I would probably recommend parking at Crown as it's only a short walk away!). But apart from this, had a very enjoyable experience. I was there with a small group (the boys were very disappointed they couldn't have a beer - the place has no licence!), and we all found the prices quite reasonable. I was disappointed that I (being vegan) couldn't try the prawns (they're egg based), but I really enjoyed the ginger 'duck' (very realistic texture) and 'beef' in black bean sauce (extemely tasty!).

The service was quite good but we sometimes found ourselves looking around trying to find a waiter (although there were only a few on, as it was a Tuesday night). Very plain and simple decor. Overall, definitely worth a try!

This place is delightful! The staff were so friendly from the start - eager to make you feel at ease and welcome. I went on a Sunday for lunch and so was able to make selections from a lovely buffet - all the dishes were very flavoursome and there was a fair bit of variety! My soy chai latte was surprisingly good, and, although a bit grungy, the atmosphere was great - we really enjoyed watching the African dancing on the big screen - and the mix of furniture was homely and inviting!

Not a great place for a date or anything like that, but certainly a wonderful experience. As previously mentioned, you pay what you feel the food (and experience) is worth!!

I went to Vegie Bar for the first time 2 weeks ago, and was very disappointed considering the great reviews I'd heard. The dim sims were great, and there was a huge selection of vegan meals, however my noodles were quite bland and tasteless, as was my friend's rice dish.

Deciding to give the place a second chance, I went back and tried again! This time was a lot better - the dim sims were great again, and this time I had the vegan pizza for main course (delicious!). The staff were friendly and efficient, and, although busy, the atmosphere was bearable for a date (although we were lucky to get a prive table - the communal tables would of been a bit inappropriate!). My only complaint the second time around was that they ran out of chai tea!!!!!

Overall, highly recommended (and cheap!)!
