A group of us went here for my son's birthday a couple of weeks ago. Unknown to us the restaurant, except for two tables, was booked out for an engagement party. This wasn't a problem as we got into the spirit, listened to and clapped the speeches and even got a piece of the cake. But I found the menu quite boring and lacking in variety. Yes, I know it's a grill but a platter of meat with a small salad and a bowl of chips (for seven people) doesn't cut the mustard these days. But worse was to come.
We ordered three coffees but the waitress arrived with one cup and explained "we've run out of coffee" Duh! I was then presented with a cup of transparent instant coffee. I didn't know you could still buy Pablo. The whole table laughed. I don't think I'll be back.

Never have I felt more welcome in a restaurant. It is like being in your mum's kitchen, so relaxed. After a visit with a friend a few weeks ago I brought the whole family for my birthday. Given the occasion how could we go past the banquet at $45 a head.
The food was delicious except for the calamari which was a touch undercooked. Most restaurants would ignore food being returned largely untouched but not Peter! He was at the table insisting we have a replacement dish. Honestly, we were so satisfied with everything else we had to decline the kind offer.
Now we're planning another birthday at Sophie's. And the belly dancer is gorgeous!

My first time at Moretti's after a movie at the Palace. We were lucky and walked straight in for a table for two. Service was quick and attentive and it's good to see wine offered by the glass and reasonably priced. My companion fancied fish so she ordered the sole, which was pronounced delicious, with a side salad. I had the special of gnocchi with prawns and zucchini, also delicious although a trifle under-seasoned.
The highlight of the night for me was the dolci. Their pannacotta, with strawberries and a berry coulis, was sensational. I will go back for that alone. Now, if they could just do something about the noise.

I have to agree with my daughter below. I come from Marayong to eat at El Bahsa. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff here. Especially recommend the Lebanese lemonade. If you leave here hungry you're just not trying!
