My partner and I recently came here on a week night using one of those vouchers.
The food was delicious and plentiful. There were about 20 skewers and they continue to ask if you want second or thirds (I went thirds on the honey cinnamon pineapple). The food just kept coming and we kept wondering how much more there possibly could be! Also, the salad/side dish menu had about 10 choices. We tried everything and liked the salsa and fried bananas.
The only bad thing I would say about the food, is that the garlic beef was a bit dry. But overall we enjoyed the food very much, and there was just so much variety.
The service was also amazing. They are very attentive and gave us some Portuguese palm cards to learn. There was an old couple travelling interstate sitting next to us who we spoke to over dinner about random things, mainly the food. The owners/waiters showed utmost respect and kindness to them.
Overall we enjoyed it very much and would definitely come back.

I ordered the seafood fettuccine pasta (can't remember what it was called, the one with the bugs) and it was truly awful. The pasta was not fresh, but rather, overcooked and the presentation was awful - as though it had been stirred in a pot with the sauce and dumped onto the plate. Not to mention the entire dish had this awful off-seafood smell. It was really gross.
We also ordered the arancini balls which were the diameter of a 20cent coin and came 5 on a plate for $12 or something ridiculous! My friends ordered some creamy pasta which was very, very oily, and the Toscani's chicken which had a nice sauce but I was told the chicken was rather dry.
Overall, a disappointing experience with the (pricey) food.

Recently went here for dinner on saturday night with some friends. The salad bar was okay, some interesting salads. However, the roast pork and roast beef I found to be quite dry, even with the special dressings. The seafood included oysters, crab, (raw) smoked salmon, prawns, sushi with eel/salmon etc, this was okay but I thought it could have been better especially if the crab and prawns weren't just boiled.
The bread, cheese and dip selection was quite interesting, brie, blue vein cheese and dips included babaganoush (tasty), hommus, corn relish etc. there was also caesar salad and a DIY salad bar type thing which included anchovies. desserts were okay, the cakes were very nice, as was the berry meringue pudding thing, but there were too many jelly shots. Nice ambience, atmosphere and waiters were very prompt in taking away dishes but for the price, too expensive I reckon.

This place isn't as great as people make it out to be. The churro didn't have much taste to them (it was just fried dough, with no doughnut taste to it at all). They were crunchy on the outside but weren't soft on the inside.
The chocolate dipping sauce was nice. Don't order the caramel unless you have a really sweet tooth. The waiters, a bit snobby. Had to ask 3 times for our table to be cleared before sitting down. And $8 for 3 sticks, isn't too expensive but isn't cheap either.

Recently went here with some friends, and we all went for the $28 buffet. At first I noticed the restaurant is run by Koreans, hence the menu has hints of Korean cuisine here and there.
The sushi was great - particularly the Dragon, Volcano and Italian which were made as you ordered them. The yakitori sticks were sweet and succulent & we could even order dishes of eel by itself.
However I was a little disappointed with some of the other dishes - the agedashi tofu was not silky as it should be but instead lumpy, and the katsu, karage and gyoza were over-fried, really dry and very oily. Also, there were too many bones in the eel.
As I only enjoyed the sushi. I would recommend this place to someone who wants to eat a lot of sushi. ($28 worth of sushi). Otherwise, spend your $28 elsewhere.

I've been to this "cafe" several times now. The Japanese-Western fusions are not too outrageous and the food is always tasty, however the portions are a bit on the smaller size. Also, on a few occasions the Calpis drink I ordered had clearly been diluted with water.
If you are lovers of Japanese curry, I recommend the karage curry rice dish, or even the curry pasta (as unusual a combination that sounds).

Have been here a couple of times. I think the $12 lunch bento special is overrated. The fusions are pretty interesting. I ordered the chicken namban twice - the chicken was cooked nicely however they do put a lot of mayo-tatare sauce on top (wasn't a problem for me since I like the sauce). All in all, a decent place but I wouldn't recommend coming here regularly.

I visited the Kura off the corner of Liverpool St towards Darling Harbour during lunch break with a couple of colleagues. Despite the restaurant being quite small, as with the one in Haymarket, the food was quite tasty and affordable. I had Katsu Don for $9.20, pretty good! Also, the food comes out pretty quick so you don't have to wait half your lunch time for it.

Been here twice now, and I was never disappointed. Compared to other sushi train restaurants, all the plates are equally priced ($2.8 or $2.5 if you're a student) - this includes sides such as takoyaki, agedashi tofu etc. and the desserts too! Friendly service - you can order whatever dish you like from the menu (even if it's already on the train). My favourite is the grilled smoked salmon sushi and the eel and cream cheese. Great for a quick lunch!
