A superb restaurant. I took some overseas clients there for a business lunch and we were all impressed with our experience. An amazing menu with enough choice to suit any palate. The wine list was a novel with 100+ pages of every wine under the sun. Expensive but well worth the cost. And I closed the deal!

As usual this restaurant never disappoints. Fantastic selection of high quality meals and accompanying wines at reasonable prices. Don't change a thing. We will definitely be back.

Everything about this place was sublime. The food, the service and the ambience thoroughly deserving of your chef's hat award. Top class. Much better than all the restaurants in Blackheath combined. Thanks for a terrific night.

We dined there with friends a few weeks ago after noticing escarpment walking by the shops on our stop off in Blackheath. From the outside we liked the look of the place and the contents of the menu, and after having spent some time in France recently on a business trip and immensely enjoyed the cuisine over there, I was looking forward to some provincial style cooking.

Unfortunately, we were not impressed with our meals. Fantastic presentation usually means quality food, but not in this case. The meals were average at best especially for the prices we paid so I don't think we'll be returning.

Reading through these recent reviews we were quite apprehensive about going to this restaurant as it seemed like it had gone down hill of late. However, our party of four had probably the best meal we’ve had in a decade. The tasty traditional menu, impeccable service and warm ambience make Gustissimo a rare find indeed.

Reviewers saying they charge Sydney prices probably haven’t been to Sydney lately, and I can guarantee you (being Sydneysiders ourselves) that the portion sizes and quality of the food we got far exceeded what you would get in any Sydney restaurant for the price. We spent $45 a head and that included wonderful Italian wine, and we all walked out of there absolutely stuffed to the brim.

If you’re looking for cheap eats, then there are plenty of cafes with greasy pub style food in Katoomba, but if you’re prepared to pay these so-called Sydney prices (which really they’re not) then you have to give Gustissimo a try. We weren’t disappointed and we’ll definitely return to sample more of their exquisite menu on our next visit.

Thank you jamesofsydney for your kind remarks. We try very hard to give top quality meals while keeping the prices as low as possible. Being in the mountains it is difficult to source some of the ingredients we need, especially some of the imported Italian products, so we have to get them from Sydney at great expense.
