Having passed by Agave many times, we decided to give it a try Friday night and were not disappointed.

To start we had the Quesadilla's $15, the Chicken was good but the Lamb Borrego was fantastic. For main we both had the chicken Enchilada's $24 one came with a green salsa (verde) the other red (Rojas) the Verde was extremely hot but still very enjoyable.

The service was excellent and for $140 for 2 people including three Corona's and three glasses of wine, terrific value. We would happily dine at Agave again.

The sushi here is mediocre. I asked if I could have a roll without avocado, as all the pre made rolls included it, but, unfortunately, the waitress said no. I was a little perplexed as a sign on the sushi cabinet said anything could be ordered, maybe it was a language thing or maybe they were too busy?

The shop is small with a couple of tables, but it seemed a little too crowded and crammed in. I probably wouldn't dine at Eat Me Sushi again, as I don't eat avocado and there are other places on King st where you can custom order your rolls.

We came across Joe's midweek as we were in the area and looking for somewhere to eat, it's cafe style and very casual.

The food is mediocre, Bruschetta and garlic breads were good, the veal schnitzel slightly overdone and the veal marsala was very strong flavoured. The salad was fresh and the size of the meals were generous.

The service is excellent and fast, we had three local beers each and the meal came to around $70 for two including a tip. Joe's isn't fine dining but I would definitely eat here again.

I booked a table for two Saturday night for a friends birthday. The restaurant is located up the escalators inside Chiffley plaza and was a little hard to find.

We ordered the spinach with sesame $15 which was delicious, the Wagyu carpaccio for $39 was a little chewy but the Tuna carpaccio was beautifully tender and well presented $16, the meal came to $220 which also included tempura, sashimi, a bottle of wine and four japanese beers.

The service was impeccable, the waitress's were fast, polite and we didn't have to ask to have our drinks refilled.

Overall I would recommend Azuma, although I get the feeling the restaurant caters largely to business people and office workers given its location and decor.

Very reasonably priced burgers, we had the Newtown with steak fries for 13.50 which was excellent value. The staff are friendly but as its just a burger joint, lacks ambience.

Having dined at Guzman in Newtown and Bondi Junction, Westfield pitt street mall was a little disappointing.

The service is as you would expect, efficient and friendly but the food was lacking. The chicken Guerrero burrito was short on chicken and the bulk of the burrito was beans, not worth the 10.50.

I wouldn't recommend dining at Guzman Pitt st mall.

We strolled in off the street Saturday night without a booking and were greeted courteously despite not having a reservation.

The food is Sichuan style and presented beautifully. The stewed pork with brown sauce was so tender it was falling apart for 16.70, the Sichuan style cooked beef was delicious 17.50 and the green beans in pork mince 14.80 were unusual.
A little more expensive than your average Sichuan restaurant but the quality and presentation are worth it. I recommend Red Chilli Chatswood.

Hidden away in the backstreets of Waterloo, Allspice was a nice surprise. Casual cafe style dining, excellent for families or take away. We had the chicken satay and money bags for entree, both good value at $7.90. The crumbed tamarind Prawns were the highlight of the meal for 18.90 while the Panang chicken curry was mild 11.90, the beef pad thai was average.

All spice is BYO and the staff are friendly and efficient. I would dine here again.

This is a fantastic venue in an area which desperately needs more restaurants and bars.

Unfortunately, the food lets it down. We both ordered sirloin steak medium, mine was about an inch thicker than my friends and was bleeding all over the plate while his was grey and overcooked.

The service was excellent and the bar manager agreed our steaks were less than satisfactory and didn't charge us for them. I would return for drinks but would probably eat prior. Once they have ironed out the problems in the kitchen, 4143 has good potential.

Normally I avoid restaurants without a booking policy, but decided to give Eathouse a chance as it was recommended by a friend. Unfortunately, the only seat available was at the bar and quite uncomfortable. It was 6.45 on Friday night. The bar is retro trendy and has a nice atmosphere.

We both ordered the spicy Beef cheeks with plantain and coconut cake, the sauce had an overly reduced, almost overpowering burnt tomato taste. The cake was soggy and rather tasteless. For $28 I was unimpressed.

They offer a large selection of wines and cocktails but the boutique beers were not to my taste.
