Excellent, excellent dumplings! (also the added bonus of no MSG and not being too oily) These are northern chinese style dumplings so those expecting Cantonese style yum cha dim sum will be disappointed.

I am a self confessed dumpling addict (and I'm Asian) so believe me when I say it, the dumplings are freakin' fabulous. And I rate them very well on the price to taste ratio.

Their dumplings are Meant to be different to the yum cha variety and the 'buns' are actually really really excellent Shanghai style steamed soupy dumplings/ buns. One must know a little about different styles/regional Chinese food to completely appreciate Zhenghao's dumplings. The potstickers are my personal favourite (and are So much better than Dumpling King just up the road on Kind street). The Shanghai style soupy dumpling/buns give Din Tai Fung a run for their money but are sooo much more reasonable.

Zhenghao is really all about the dumplings, in comparison, the noodles/stir frys and hot pots are not their forte, but still are pretty decent. One doesn't go to this restaurant for the ambience, but isn't that the case with so many cheap and cheerful Chinese restaurants? The staff are very friendly at Zhenghao and treat you as a regular once you've been a couple of times.

Thankfully the restaurant seems to be busier these days and they don't look like they're in danger of closing. Love the dumplings so much my partner and I jokingly considered standing out front and handing out fliers to drum them up some business.

Uninspired large serves of heavy food with one-note flavours. Overpriced considering the quality of food available in Sydney.

Service on the night we went was appalling --- waiters actively tried to avoid eye contact and when we finally managed to draw one to attention, we were informed that they weren't looking after our table.

Great beer, but waited half an hour for them after ordering at the table.

Venue's nice but I couldn't get past the awful service and overpriced mediocre food. Not sure if the staff are just sick of their jobs or trying to give it a snooty, exclusive vibe. The food/service/long wait times would probably be easier to overlook if one was already somewhat inebriated, which unfortunately, I was not.
