How disappointing was this place, only saving grace was the lovely company, great service by this brazilian guy and our 3 entertainment cards.

The entrees were ok but I've had better at Masuya, Makoto, Jurin etc. I ordered Ocean Trout Five Ways, the pieces were small (which is tiny btw) and they were at room temperature which mean they didnt 'taste' very fresh. My other half ordered the Spicy tuna roll which was tasty but lacked any spice and was full of mayonnaise. My other friend ordered the Tuna special which she said was very nice.

For main I had the Saikyo miso cod which I enjoyed but wasn't a big portion for a main size. My other half almost cried when he received his giant white plate with a small portion of duck breast. We had to order lots of sides like potatoes to fill him up. He left angry and hungry. At Jazushi they give you 3 pieces of duck breast as a main, better value for money). My friends who had the marron said it was nice but nothing special.

I think the chefs need to rethink their portion sizes for the duck, I would say 2 pieces or at least hide it on a bed of something to bulk up the plate. With $40 mains, one should not go hungry. We didn't order desserts after seeing another table have small portions large plates and went to somewhere else instead. For the price, I would go somewhere else which has fresh tasty Japanese.

Went here for our 5 year anniversary, surprised by my other half. The food was delicious and creative, only was let down by one dish really because it was a little plain but the others particularly the mains were drool worthy. I would go back for the wagyu and marron anytime!

Dessert was not as good as I've had in other places but was still fantastic nonetheless. The service was excellent, attentive and very polite, they mucked up by sending us a plate marked happy birthday with some salted caramel chocolates at the end and we laughed it off and they apologised, they left the plate for us to eat the chocolate then came back 5 minutes later with another plate of chocolates marked 'happy anniversary', we loved that they went the extra level. Great place great food. Thanks Marque.

Had a dinner date with my fiance here for my birthday. The service was generally lovely although for one guy who was obviously too cool for his job.

Food was nice but not outstanding or anything different from other places, was a tad disappointed with that. The beef was terrible, it was meant to be a marble score of 8, it was chewy and tough. The other dishes were all very nice. I had some dietary requirements which they managed to change for me to very good alternatives.

Desserts were definitely winners and the ambience, well you can see the harbour, can't complain. I also could not see any true influence of Peter Kurvita's Sri Lankan flavours in any of the degustation dishes.

One note though to be careful of. They do offer valet parking there but at the gate the security guy on the intercom said that parking was free. I figured it was too good to be true and yup it was $25 bucks which was fine but wish I wasn't lied to in the first place.

Was a fun night and good for parties with boys. Lots of meat circulating around but found the meats too heavily seasoned with giant salt crystals, very hard to eat. Apart from that, very tasty food, sadly only saw the prawns at about 10.30pm!! grrr

Service was excellent. Ambience was fine except on that particular night there was a big concert outside which made the restaurant sound like a doof-doof resonator, very annoying. Probably won't go back until the boys are craving meat again.

Came just for the Let's do lunch event this year with some girlfriends. The beef short rib was delicious, so delicious we ordered the dessert too, raspberry souffle and the banana creme brulee, deeee-licious! Only thing that spoilt it was the maitre d', was so snobbish and rude. All the other staff were Soo lovely in comparison! Thanks to those guys for making it so fun. Will be back for the ala carte or degustation soon but hope that maitre d' isn't there.

I haven't been here since it first opened and was pleasantly surprised at how lovely it was. The staff were very very nice, they even slowed down our meals arriving because a friend of ours couldn't find a park.

The food was pretty good, I had the crab souffle which I didn't think was a 'souffle' but more like a crab mould, tasty though. My partner had the pasta which was delicious. For mains we had the fish and chips and the duck which were both excellent, good sized servings too. Dessert was pretty good too. Overall a great experience and will be back.

Great food and funky place but the food was just fancy japanese, very overpriced. I think you can get just as good sushi/sashimi at Makoto or at the more posh Azumas. Would go again with the girls but wouldn't bring the boy, he would walk out hungry, or poor.

A very crowded but noisy hip kinda place. Good for 2-4 people but anymore and you might have to wait forever for a seat unless you go very early. The food is tasty but, perhaps, a tad exxy, had the duck noodles (yummy), king prawns (good but nothing too special), mini banh mi (yummy but still doesn't beat a full roll from the $3.50 place in cabra) and the Stoners Delight (awesome!). Will go back again but I think you want more share meals, stick to Jimmy Liks.

I heard this place had authentic Okonomiyaki and of course great soba so grabbed some friends to try. It was very good but the serving size was so small it was a bit of a rip off. We got the jugemu special plus noodles which is the Hiroshima style we had in Japan and taste wise it was authentic but it was literally half the size! We also had the yaki soba which was again tasty but overpriced and enough for one person only. Their soft shell crab rolls were tiny , yummy but tiny! We had a couple of drinks and Agedashi Tofu and overall it cost $110 for four of us and we were still hungry but couldnt be bothered ordering more. The host seemed pretty stressed out and wasnt very friendly.

Food is good but not fantastic but the desserts are very ordinary. I'd go somewhere else for desserts but the tapas were all very nice. Paella is not amazing but still quite nice and will definitely have it again. Service was great. No complaints there. Will go back but will not have dessert there.
