Disappointing. $280 for four people and underwhelming food, service and drinks. Not bad, just not worth the price. Waitress could not explain the meals, did not know about the wines and the atmosphere was very sterile. You could pick a much better winery for this distance to travel for a meal.

I don't usually give such poor scores but this place well and truly deserves it. Despite our party of three being the only people in the restaurant, we couldn't get served. After complaining and waiting another 45 minutes, we managed to obtain some terrible tapas. At that point we had had enough, paid half of the bill and left. The smarmy waiter who took our payment even dared to suggest the restaurant was busy and that we were rude! Do yourself and Canberra a favour and don't go here.

Agree with dimity87 - the garlic bread here is So tasty (and it's complimentary!). It's a combination of the excellent, doughy focaccia base with generous garlic, salt and a splash of fruity olive oil.

The wagyu bresaola is delicious although the rocket could have been fresher. The orecchiette with suckling pig is perfect, fresh and light. The slow cooked lamb stracotto on the other hand, was bold and rich, with the lamb falling away from the bone with the slightest touch of the knife.

Due to a waiter's (fortunate) mistake, we tried the Tiramisu (delicious) and the flourless chocolate torte (also wonderful).

We found the service swift, friendly and professional despite being full on a Saturday night. Value - $110 for two without wine (although we would have loved to sample their extensive wine list, we resisted!)

This place comes across as desperately trying to be something, but I'm not sure what exactly. There was nothing especially bad about our experience, it was just underwhelming. We had two pizzas, two steaks, two entrees and four light beers between four, which came to $160. The sweet potato and prosciutto pizza was odd and way too sweet. The steaks also had a strange, unidentifiable, 'dirty' flavour. And the pork belly entree was not crispy, as it should be.

I would not say avoid this place, but we won't be back.

Casual, relaxed and family friendly dining. The pizzas are tasty and large. A good tip though - bring a picnic blanket, order your pizza take away and then eat in the rose gaden. They cut 20% off your bill for take away!

This place is consistently good. Outside is great on a sunny day. The fish and chips is the best in Canberra and the lamb meatballs are delicious. Service is always fast and friendly, value is also good. About 100 dollars for three, including wine. If only they could get rid of the magpies though - they're fairly aggressive!

Really tasty sushi for a good-enough price (heaps of food - $75 for two).
This is laid back restaurant-style eatery, the sister of the much posher Iori down the street (where I haven't eaten). Didn't much care for the deep fried chicken but will definitely be back for the sushi, of all types.

Agree with everything Jeremy W. said. Morks has some of the best food I've had, anywhere, in Canberra. The value isn't there compared to Sydney but, hey, it's Canberra. The $65 degustation is sensational and actually is good value. Flavours are amazing. The pork belly is fantastic! (Cost around $25). Haven't tried takeaway yet.

If you're in Canberra, this place is worth travelling to. Book ahead for weekends.

The only redeeming feature of this restaurant is that the food is reasonably tasty. Having said that, it is very oily and light on meat.

While the food borders on edible, the service is overbearing yet horrendously slow and unapologetically so. We have given this place five chances because there are not too many other Indian options in this area. All of the home deliveries have taken more than one hour to arrive and on one occasion, one of the dishes was missing, for which they blamed us.

Tonight, the food was delivered after two hours, even though they said it would take 20 minutes. We called them three times and they made various excuses. Finally when the food did arrive, it was delivered by a taxi driver who called us to go down stairs to take it from him!

The time we ate in, we were repeatedly bothered by the overly-friendly wait staff who were presumably just trying to compensate for the one and a half hours it took for the first course to be delivered. This place takes too long to deliver food that is just Ok but very expensive. Go elsewhere.

Obviously, my rating is pub specific - the food is a 9, for a pub, in Canberra. Having said that, the schnitzels here are as good as they get - large, cooked well, nice gravy and generous portions of tasty chips. Although you order at the bar, the wait time to have your food brought out is always good - about 10 minutes.

Although I've heard this place can get fairly messy at night, during the day/afternoon on weekends it is always tame. Nice spot when the sun is shining for a meal and a beer. Long and short - compared to many other Canberra pubs, the food here is great.
