What can I say, absolutely love this place! There were 5 of us, and being a Sunday, we took advantage of the $25 3-course dinner. Ordered a jug of sangria (taste like normal sangria). The tapas was fresh, hot and delicious. I especially enjoyed their empanadillas. The serving were super generous, with loads of seafood in their paella.

I was so full that I couldn't finish the paella, or the churros that was for dessert, but the waitress was very kind and put them into boxes for me. The service at this place is fantastic, and you definitely get your money's worth!

I'll definitely be back for more, very interested in trying their Paella Negra (squid ink seafood paella!) Yum!

The 6 of us came here for a birthday dinner (even after the mixed reviews for this place we decided to give it a go since we've never had Persian food before).

The staff were friendly but pushy, although I did appreciate (to an extent) the lengthy explanation for each dish (however for something that I'd already set my heart on - dessert - I clearly needed no explanation, but more on that later).

For starters, we ordered 2 Mezze platters and marinated Chicken drumettes between the 6 of us; the platters were nice, but our chicken drumsticks weren't cooked (it was still bleeding), despite their deceptively charcoaled exterior. The replacements turned out too dry (but at least they weren't bleeding and we weren't charged for them at the end).

Mains: mixed kebabs & fish kebab (that was nice and moist - who knew that angel fish could be eaten and not just displayed at aquariums!) and a mixed veg and fig salad (ordinary). We also ordered the Sabzi (wasn't enough pieces of lamb in there to call it a main) and Fesenjun (fall off bone tenderness but tasted pretty ordinary). We were urged to order the barberry rice on top of our four mains which already included rice, (I must have had a brain snap at that point because I agreed) we ended up having left over rice, what a waste.

And the sad thing is none of our rice came with the grilled tomatoes or cucumber yoghurt despite it being clearly stated on the menu (none of us picked up on the missing rice accompaniments probably because we were still processing the detailed menu explanation at the beginning of service - such a shame... the yoghurt would have made the rice more palatable, it was a little too dry for my liking).

Dessert: We ordered "Persian Delight" as the staff corrected us, despite that it was called "Turkish Delight" on the menu, the texture is much harder than Turkish delight but the rose petals added a nice fragrance to it. I had my heart set on the "Rose water ice cream" that previous reviewers have raved about, however they ran out!

Considering we were one of the first tables to sit down for dinner and only two people have ordered desserts before us, I don't understand how they could've "ran out". It's like a Spanish restaurant running out of mushrooms, it's unheard of, I was truly disappointed... so we went with the pomegranate ice cream, not bad as a second choice I suppose - but where was the persian fairy floss? :( it seems this restaurant likes to skip out on a lot of accompaniments...

So in a nutshell, food was ordinary, a couple of nice dishes, but don't expect to get all the accompaniments listed on the menu. Also the food came VERY SLOWLY - even though all these slow-cooked dishes should have been ready by service time. The serves were quite small also, so I can't quite comment on the value for money factor. However I would consider coming back for desserts, let's hope that Rose Water ice cream will be available then.

Lastly, "Best 2010 Iranian Restaurant in Sydney" shouldn't be hard to beat, considering this is the only Persian restaurant in the Sydney CBD...
