Stumbled across this little beauty whilst researching tapas/ asian fusion restaurants. The menu has a distinctly Japanese theme featuring an extensive sake and shochu list as well as a superb selection of Japanese beers that you simply would not find anywhere else! My boyfriend tried the Red Miso beer after reading the unique description... that's another thing we loved about the place- the quirky humour of the menu and the friendliness of all the staff. The service was excellent and the food we ordered, divine!
I am not typically an eater of red meat, but the write up for one of the house specialties of the 'one bite beef' caught my eye and I certainly did not regret that decision - I went to heaven with every mouthful - the meat just melted in my mouth. The edemame with garlic, sea salt and pepper were a prfect starter to our meal and to follow we ordered the prawn dumplings from the tapas section of the menu - the prawns were plump, juicy and delicious.
We ordered the okra and asparagus to balance the meal and had never tried cooked okra before, only the dried chips... the okra has a unique flavour and texture and worth a try! We contemplated dessert after devouring our one bite beef, however were confortably full and that is just another excuse to return in the extremely near future.

One of our favourite little places along Norton Street in Leichhardt, and that is saying alot due to the fact that Norton Street is Little Italy! Don't get me wrong, I am a fan of Italian food, but when you're after a lighter, fresher and, perhaps, healthier option, Japanese is a great choice.
My boyfriend, sister and myself dine at this little establishment on a frequent basis, maybe even weekly, and the service is always super friendly and fast every visit.
We are all not very adventurous in our orders, but that is only because the food is so delicious. We typically order the steamed gyoza, tofu teriyaki and chilli seafood udon or chicken katsu udon, and their corkage prices are extremely reasonable. This restaurant is also licensed.
They have attempted to create a bit of ambience with the use of tealight candles on each table which adds a nice touch.
This is a great value dining experience, and with the sushi chefs on show, I must bring myself to venture from the usual order one day!

Probably the worst dining experience of my life, and the service waiters/ waitresses simply did not want to be there!
The food was nothing special, and I even went back there to give them the benefit of the doubt for early morning coffee on one occasion, in which case they argued with myself and company about the fact that they charged 50 cents extra for skim milk per drink, and on another occasion my boyfriend and I needed a hit of caffeine on our long car trip back to Hornsby, and the waiter was extremely rude to us, telling us that they were closed, when they were clearly still serving other people in the restaurant.
All we wanted were two regular coffees and he closed the doors on us. I would never think to go back there again, and urge others not to make the mistake of giving them a go.
