Only negatives was the noise and how close the tables were together. Staff and food just great. Hidden treasure. I think they should remove 1 or 2 tables and put the prices up a little to cover that.

Amazing is all I can say. Friendly staff and great food. Felt like I went back home for a family meal. Only negative was when everyone is talking how loud it is! But that was fine as all were having a great time.

Vile service and sorry called in here for an afternoon drink. Young waitresses walking around with their heads in the sky. Rude to other patrons and our group at various times. Sad to see a Rydges hotel with such bad service staff.

First time visitor for lunch. Lovely waitress. Nice food. Quick and lunch okonomiyaki set is great value. Only negative is the unhappy chef. Wish we could cook our own.

Enjoyed the location and setting, however, this all was let down by the insincere bar man serving. He was grumpy and not clean looking and ordering anything felt like you were being a hindrance. Cocktails passable but I am sure there are much better places in Brisbane.

3 of us dined here last weekend. All with different tastes and we all were satisfied with the dishes at this place for yumcha. We were sat at a table in the corner where the line to pay your bill formed in front blocking the dimsum trolleys from seeing us. But when the line was small it was ok. Nice friendly trolley workers but wait staff and management seem to rush around rudely. One worker even pushed a child away right before our eyes. Just to get pass. The Dining room is worn and looks like something from 1970. Being from Sydney and use to Fresh chopped Chilli free of charge, I was amazed we were charged for our chopped chilli and soysauce. Only negatives would really be the rude senior management running around like bulls in a china shop :)

Old venue but lovely staff. Went for a birthday for an Aunt. Not many had ever eaten Japanese and so were happy with what they did. 15 of us with some non seafood eaters. All catered for. No staff spoke Japanese which was a shame as some of us were speakers. However, the staff were all flawless and worked hard. Toilets ordinary and my elderly mother slipped over due to a wet floor. We all left full and happy. Only negative I found was the old venue and bad toilets.
I will give another try with friends. I miss Nikko on Sussex.

Food very nice. Service was a let down. Was Sunday around 2pm. One guy who was serving was so unhappy cold and not welcoming at all. The lady who was working was quite pleasant and smiled. Food was very good however unhappy wait staff really turn you off coming back again.

Upon booking, was explained fully how this restaurant operates. Very informative as we had perused the menu on the internet. All meals come out on 360degree hot stone and you cook the meal to your liking. Frites and Salad come with all meals. Frites ( plank style wedges ) were in a lovely seasoning however the salad was a little flat and unappetizing.

Seasonings on the side of the hot plate were not explained and were very sloppily presented. Actually looked like had been used a previous customer. This I am sure was not the case. However they looked roughly placed and unappetizing.
Staff were ok. Blonde host was a little bossy to the other hostess who was quite pleasant and friendly. Overall a nice experience but probably would not rush to return.

Agree with loads of other reviews here. Food great however many local Thai places all over Sydney offer just as good. Our party of 8 included overseas guests whom were recommended this restaurant. All were totally unimpressed.

I must mention upon entering Longrain we found the communal bench style unsuitable for our group. Therefore we were offered a table adjoining the bar. We sat down and were rudely yelled at by the waitress to wait till she set the space up for the group. This put a very bad taste in all our mouths. Will not be returning and voicing this to clients and friends alike.
