Two ordinary steaks. The eye fillet my wife had was tender enough but not tasty and lacked any juices?!
My Waygu was chewy, not on. Service was average at best. They seemed to know that what they were serving was disappointing and were happy we left without complaining.

There are some pretty horrible reviews of Sage on this site and so I was a tad worried about my wife's decision to eat there recently. However, there was little to worry about. We arrived 10 minutes early but our table was ready.
Service from there on was prompt and efficient, though not overly friendly. We ate at Artisan recently and the food is on a par with the great food there (though we still prefer Courgette). Servings, like Artisan, are small: the very scimpy piece of scampi being the main offender. We both had the beef, just beautiful, tasty, cooked to perfection. The sides of Paris mash and peas were also delicious.
Desserts were lovely, the "bananarama" special was good although the coconut flavours evident didn't work. The peach and berri fruit dessert was delicious although I could find no evidence of the honeycomb it was supposed to come with. All in all I would recommend Sage as top class in the fine dining stakes.

Sammys provides consistently good quality, tasty, fresh chinese food. We have been many times and have never been disappointed with the quality of the food. It is though served in a crowded and frenetic atmosphere which detracts from the overall experience. The asparagus specials dish is a must have.

Yes, the servings are small so if you are a big eater this is not the place for you. However, the quality of the food does tend to make up for the serving size. My steak was excellent, tasty, cooked to perfection. My wife's crab and lobster tortellini was delicious, desserts (creme brulee and a chocolate dessert which was a cross between a mousse and a cake) were both of a high quality. The size of the servings and the cost, however, take this restaurant back a notch.

The food was fantastic, crab cakes for entree with best prawn ever and seafoods for main were so fresh and tasty. The dessert, rhubarb pie was divine. The wine by the glass was not cheap but of a very high quality. The only issue we had was the 25 wait for a Peach Bellini cocktail for my wife to start the evening. Given that this was a 6pm booking and we had to be out by 8:15 this put a bit of strain on the evening. I say only a bit because we had an excellent table and spent the wait just soaking up the magnificient view. We will be back!

Mixed bag is my description of our Saturday dining experience at Pistachio. The service - very good - nice spacing between meals and a waiter there when you needed them. The entrees - scallops large, tasty and well presented, the vegetarian tart was unfortunately on a filo crust so there were no flavours coming from the pastry and the topping didn't make up for this. The mains - the beef, tender and cooked as requested. There was however a herb topping (can't remember what) that was too strong and had to be swept aside. The dessert tasting plate was a hot - everything on it up to the standard you would expect from a good restaurant.

What an amazing place. Entertainment, three piece orchestra, acrobat and pole dancer all added to a spicy evening (excuse the pun). The food was delicious, the slow roasted pork in particular was a great hit, the barramundi and prawns delicious and just the right amount of spice, the Rose pannacotta, perhaps, lacking a bit of sweetness.

A warm restaurant in Canberra during the cold months gets points for starters. The service was attentive, the meals superb (the steak was fantastic) although the pork belly was served with so many "sides" that the flavours tended to blend in to each other.

Unbeatable location and excellent food although the steak was not the best I have ever had. My only complaint was the wine service. We were asked for our wine selection only moments before the main meal came out (which was a bit quick to arrive) and then had to ask for it as we would have finished our meal before it arrived. Also had to remind them to give us the dessert wine list. We will return though: for the location if nothing else (and the raspberry souffle!).

Arrived to a far too cold restaurant that seemed to have two settings of AC -on or off (they did alternate when it became apparent it wasn't just us freezing our butts off). Degustation menu was the only food on offer. We were told this when they rang to confirm the booking "Is that alright?" - not much choice really when you are told two days before and you have planned your whole weekend away around your restaurant experience. The food though was glorious, several dishes amongst the best I have ever had. Servings on the whole were too small. The try hard wine menu (we opted for the matching wines) failed on several occasions, as did the thick French accent of the wine waiter. The champagne my wife had before starting our meal was not a patch on many Australian sparking wines (inclduing the ones below $10)and the wine fortified with sherry with one of the courses was truly awful.
