The most rude service I've ever come across and very overpriced coffee. To be avoided at all costs. Its a shame because the courtyard is quite nice and Lithgow is low on options.

Well Connected is one of my favourite cafes on Glebe Pt Road. The service has not been as inattentive as it sometimes was (often you'd wait for service at an upstairs table for... millenniums) but it is still as studenty and artsy as ever.
This isn't somewhere I'd rave about regarding food but for a coffee and a cake (and very nice Chai - ask for honey) it can't be beat. Unlike lots of other cafes where the cakes and muffins taste as if they've been sitting in the display for weeks, the selection is always fresh and tasty here. You can sit here for hours and no waiter will mind (or in the past, even notice) So go find a table upstairs on the sunny balcony and relax...

This place has a great fit-out and generally quite attentive service so it is with regret that I say that the food is just not up to scratch. I've been here several times - always lured back by the nice candlelit tables and gregarious atmosphere - but I always leave a little disappointed.
$3 tacos night easily becomes a $30-35 a head meal (not expensive - but not $3) once you add all the extras that make them edible (salsa, cream, guacamole - everything is an extra cost) and the full priced meals are overpriced for the rather unsophisticated street food that they are. The guacamole packs little punch although the corn chips are absolutely divine.
Needless to say, the lovely staff and nice decor will continue to draw crowds but the place would be an absolute gem if it stepped up its game on the food-front.

A great addition to Glebe. Very friendly, welcoming service and a lovely jovial atmosphere. We just had a quick meal - a delicious cheesy concoction (some kind of Czech gnocchi) and a few rather tasty Czech beers. If you don't like bright, lighting then it won't be for you - this is definitely an unpretentious warm place and not a dark, candlelit kind of haunt. Will be back.

We came here for dinner midweek in a medium-sized group and generally enjoyed ourselves despite a few things that let the meal down slightly. Everyone really enjoyed their mains, the duck dish a particular favourite. Cooked to perfection, it was a lovely balance between richer (duck and mushrooms) and light (rice paper roll and thinly sliced veges). The sides were also eaten up with relish (creamy baked cauliflower was delish).
However, the meal was let down by the desserts, a rather haphazard selection that seemed to be (at least in writing) more showy than tasty. The lavender creme brulée just didn't have the x factor, nor did the chocolate fondant. Our only niggle was that our waitress was not very warm or friendly. She seemed visibly stressed and her manner was brusque. Though in the larger part, the cosy atmosphere and hearty food made for a lovely meal.

I've given the Health Emporium a few chances after a couple of bumpy encounters but, unfortunately, nothing has improved on the customer service front. Staff always seem too 'busy' to serve, talking with each other behind the counter. My last attempt at lunch there was no different.
Food was cold and there was no real attempt to make amends. There seems to be a culture of complacency or just too large a dose of 'Bondi cool' to make this place the nice roadside cafe/health store it could be. Avoid.

The food here is delicious and fresh. I've had dinner here a few times and the fish curry, while a little pricey, is full of flavour. For lunch, I often enjoy the Roti Canai and my friend enjoyed his hawker-style noodles. I've never had a problem with the staff - the waitresses can be a little vague but the senior staff are warm and friendly. The interesting desserts are a lot of fun to try too. Yum!

Shady Pines is great fun. Cool dudes behind the bar, free peanuts all night long, decor that doesn't take itself too seriously and delicious cocktails. It is loud and crowded but what good bar isn't?

Clipper Cafe continues to be one of the best little cafes on Glebe Point Rd. Service went through a bumpy stage a while back, but on my last few visits I was delighted to receive friendly and attentive service from their waitstaff. Coffee was fabulous and the pear muffin very scrumptious. They even offer an Access discount for University of Sydney students. Cute decor. Great place!

I love Kawa. It is on my list of 'go to' cafes for a nice relaxed weekend meal. Sure, it is full of posers - but if you don't enjoy the people-watching then what are you doing on Crown Street?! The coffee is nice and the sandwiches, while not revolutionary in any means, are tasty and a good size. I've never found the staff to be particularly rude. Grab a table outside in the sun, relax and watch the hipsters walk by!
