A group of 12 of us went to Chophouse for dinner on a Friday night. The food was very good and very consistent. The standout for me was the Crisp Pork Belly & Sea Scallop salad. The flavour combination worked extremely well, and I would say this was one of the best salads I've ever had! The Tomato & Boccocini side was also very nice. I had the Pasture Fed Petit Fillet (MB2+) as the main, and it was cooked so well it retained the right amount of juice and was tender. Prior to arriving at Chophouse, I called ahead to request for some space to park my pram. They left us quite a generous space for it, which really helped. I would gladly return to Chophouse!

The food at the Third Rock is reasonably priced, good quality and comes in decent portions. The Lamb shank special was very impressive and great value for money. One thing the cafe can improve on is the Lemon, Lime and Bitters.
Overall, it is a very good cafe and better than the other one across the road. I heard the coffees are very good there as well.
They were very accommodating. When I called up to book I told them I would be bringing a pram and they actually moved the table out a bit so the pram could fit next to the wall!

We got off to a reasonably good start with the entrees. Not by any means spectacular but they were good. We had a the King prawn pasta, jamon, marron salad and quail salad as starters to share.
The mains were unfortunately the lowlight for the night. For such a highly regarded kitchen, that was visible to diners, we were shocked to see trays of pre cooked steak. They were extremely salty and a little bit burnt, appearing to be "heated" up upon order.
Given this disappointment I would have to say the food was not worthy of the price being charged. The restaurant also added a $50 corkage to our bill - but we didn't bring any wine. This was later adjusted when we brought it to the attention of the waiters but this really should not have happened.
We went in looking forward to the experience but came out dismayed. However the service and ambience were of a pretty good standard, but the food, and how it is prepared needs improvement. We will be remembering it for all the wrong reasons.
