After visiting this restaurant, it is quite clear that the previous reviews must be from 'friends'. After reading the great reviews on this site, we decided to give Assaggi a go, but were quite disappointed. The pasta dishes were around the $20 mark, as were the pizzas. We found the pizza bases extremely thin, barely there. The fettuccine carbonara wasn't that great either, the homemade pasta didn't taste great and it was covered in a thick salty sauce. The service was fine, with polite and friendly waiters. Won't be returning though.

Hello Fattwink,
As the owner of Assaggi, I can assure you the reviews posted here at eatability are from genuine patrons. We only recently discovered our listing here (hence why I am only responding to your feedback now.)
I thank you for taking the time to provide your constructive feedback to me. As the owner I always want every meal to be thoroughly enjoyed by our patrons. If there is an issue with a meal then it is important I am informed so I can investigate and see what we can do to improve our service and meals even more.
We are quite busy every night, but I always want to improve and ensure our whole dining experience is the best it can be.
Thank you for your feedback.
Regards,
Masssimo

Agreed with previous reviewer, stood at reception for 5 minutes with no one even bothering to greet us or ask us to wait a bit. Took another 15 minutes before we were given a menu. Staff were unfriendly and looked like they couldn't care less whether we liked the food or not. Plates were pretty much thrown on the table. For the price paid, service was horrible, food was mediocre and I will not be coming back here again. Was glad when we were finally out of this place.

This place is seriously overrated. Extremely disappointed for my first visit. We ordered 2 mains and an entree. The entree came out well after our mains, and they didn't taste anything like what we expected. They were supposed to be fried prawn dumplings, but there was NO prawn found inside, it was fully minced up. Beats the purpose of wanting to eat prawn dumpling if you ask me.
Mains I ordered a chicken stir fried noodle and I found ONE piece of chicken. Other main was a rice dish which was drenched in some sort of gooey sauce. For $20 for a main, it was a complete waste of money. Will never be going back to any Wagamama.

I had dinner here on a Friday night with my boyfriend for my birthday, so we just took our time and didn't worry about the expenses. A very classy restaurant, quite expensive with small servings.
The place was great, great ambience, great view, great service, friendly waiters/waitresses. Very professional. We started off with the smoked ocean trout and scallops for an entree. The scallops were superb (although there were only 2 scallops), and my boyfriend said that was the best semi-raw fish he has ever tasted (and he can't eat raw fish!).
For mains, we had the lamb (again, very small servings of a piece or 2 of about 4 or 5 different parts of the lamb) and the beef tasting plate of all the different types of beef they offered. Out of all the beef, I would highly recommend trying the Wagyu (it was so soft and had a very nice texture to it).
Then for dessert we ordered the selections of dessert which included 4 different types of dessert - berry, peach, banana and chocolate. I'd have to say the flavours in each different item was magnificent. I have never tasted such intense flavour in these types of food before. Also, the complimentary small tastings of salmon at the start and then pineapple jelly from the kitchen was a very nice and friendly gesture.
Overall, this was a great restaurant for a special occasion and for the experience of dining high class ($30 for an entree!!), it was worth it. I probably wouldn't eat here again because of the price and size of servings, but if you haven't tried it out, I highly recommend you do because this place is definitely something different!!

The ambience at this restaurant was just perfect. It is nice, quiet, relaxing and the candles on the table and dimmed lights were great (although we did have dinner on a Thursday night and there weren't many customers in the restaurant). Service was great, waitress was very friendly.
We ordered the cripsy skinned pork for starters and that was quite nice. A bit disappointed with the mains though. We ordered coconut prawns which was quite bland and chicken with cashew nuts, which was mediocre and we only found 2 cashew nuts? (lol).
The place was nice overall, with food being only mediorce but maybe it was because we ordered 'curry-type' dishes. Other dishes may have been better.

I am Vietnamese and the food here is awful. Not authentic Vietnamese food. If you're looking for nice authentic Vietnamese food, go somewhere else. I was extremely disapppointed.

Duck was good but quite oily. Was extremely shocked when we saw the bill. An extra plate of pancakes (of 12 pancakes) was $20, combination fried noodles (not on the menu, but they said that could make it, it was for the little kids who couldn't eat peking duck) was charged at $21 for a small plate that would have only been maximum $15 at any other chinese restaurant. Duck was honestly nice, but I wouldn't go there again.
