The most delicious garlic rice is on offer here and some decent Thai dishes with a bit of a twist such as the Mieng Khumm egg nets with prawn and chicken mince and betel leaves.

It's a modern Thai restaurant with a pretty interior but our only issue was that after we finished their first bowl of complimentary addictive prawn crackers, they brought us out another bowl without even asking, so we thought was a generous refill but they ended up charging us on the final bill, so if you don't need that second bowl of prawn crackers - tell the waitresses!

This place is a great value Vietnamese addition to Eastwood's dining scene. They do their noodle soups well, have some interesting meats on the menu like crocodile which is surprisingly quite delicious but steer clear of their ricepaper rolls, they're not that great compared to the rest of the menu.

We heard great reviews about Toriichi and came here for a group dinner one Friday night. We decided to try their $20 function menu, it looked like decent value for the dishes that it included and we even got some "upgrades" as they had run out of some of the ingredients for the set dishes. We ended up with gyoza (pan-fried dumplings) and marinated octopus instead of the chicken liver, and also receive salmon carpaccio instead of english spinach.

Unfortunately, while some of the dishes were quite delicious (especially the gyoza and chicken karaage), there were too many "filler" dishes in the function menu such as all the random pickled cabbages and radishes. The servings were also rather small (one piece of gyoza/chicken/salmon) per person. We were also not fans of their sake, even their sweetest sake (the Karen) was too strong for our tastes.

But all that being said, the service was very friendly and we might come back to try their a la carte menu, it is probably better value than the function menu.

An upmarket version of the traditional Korean BBQ with decent service and flashier than usual decor. Their meats are also more premium (and more expensive) but their Angus boneless short rib was quite good although their pork belly was a bit tough. Try their yakult soju, it tasted very different from anything I've had before!

Interesting take on brunch dishes, with offerings like roasted pear with honey and greek yoghurt, creamed eggs with truffle oil and slowcooked broccoli with eggs. Service was a bit slow but very attentive. Danks Street Depot is a pretty casual and nice place to chill out at. The prices are a bit expensive for a meal which would cost <$5 to make, but otherwise if you’ve got the spare cash it’s worth checking out.

Fantastic hidden edgy cafe with delicious gourmet sandwiches (we liked their prosciutto sandwich and also their chicken with garlic mayo) and their interesting take on the affogato, salty peanut gelato instead of plain vanilla icecream adds a great twist.

Shanghai Stories has become my new favourite xiaolongbao and dumplings restaurant, it's very well priced, gorgeously decorated and has decent service the few times I've been there. I love their juicy xiaolongbao and their panfried pork buns as well as their cute panda buns.

I'm impressed by the revamp of Baia, it looks more classy now and the food is more delicious/reasonably priced than before. We got a great table by the water and enjoyed some fantastic seafood Italian dishes like the arctic crab risotto and scallop ravioloni which were my favourites of the meal.

Their white sangria is delicious and they have a wide range of tapas, quite a few which come with a nice roasted garlic sauce. We also tried out a few of their chocolate desserts, loved their "revolution waffles" and their churros were nice too, all drizzled with chocolate sauce. Their take on the affogato was different because they used a cocktail glass and coated it in more of that yummy chocolate!

Love this sleek sister restaurant of Pony at the Rocks, beautiful lounge with equally gorgeous desserts, we tried their hazelnut parfait and were blown away by the glorious taste. Their vanilla creme brulee was also quite delectable.
