Very average Italian pizzas with dry pizza bases and poor quality toppings. The glass of house wine that was included with our Spreets voucher deal was not more than 90ml of cheap table wine served in a miniature wine glass. Nevertheless, the service staff was friendly and caring.

My wife and I had an impeccable executed three course lunch meal at Sugaroom that was complimented with an attentive service and a lovely ambience. The only down side was that the beverage list for this semi-fine dining restaurant is slightly pricey. For example, we were charged $13 for a large bottle of sparkling water and $13 for a glass of NZ Sauvignon Blanc. In my opinion, there should not be an additional charge of $1.50 per person for four half slices of wholemeal bread.

This is our local restaurant and we have been dining at Alio regularly for the past 5 years. We consistently have a fabulous dining experience. This restaurant serves unpretentious, contemporary Italian food. We have noticed that it is starting to drop in value for money by increasing $$$$ prices such as the degustation dinner we had last time. Nevertheless, they will see us again soon.

This place is not the best Japanese food in Surry Hills, but after dining here twice using a Spreets voucher we established that, it was of very good value. The food was delicious and in abundance. The service staff lacked on hospitality experience, but overall they were friendly. White butcher paper as a tablecloth would make this place cosier.

What we like at Puntino is their friendly service always being served with a smile. Their pizzas are not the best, but not the worst either. Try the prosciutto and porcini pizza. If you are in possession of this restaurant’s Entertainment book voucher or coupon, I definitely recommend this place as a good value pizza and pasta eatery.

After reading the 2011 SMH good food guide, this Japanese fusion restaurant is considered as a 'global gem'. Hence, we purchased a Spreets vouchers for $69 for a 5-course degustation dinner that included sake. Our dining experience was a disaster! The food was so poorly executed, that we received great confusion rather than fusion. Furthermore, the service was more concerned with customer turnover than to take care of its existing dining customers.

The degustation dinner began with mediocre appetisers such as chunks of raw cabbage served with mayonnaise, chunks of soy and sesame marinated cucumber, edamame and deep-fried cheese croquettes. To follow we had three different types of skewers, Crumbed and deep-fried crocodile tail. The meat was so tough that we could not eat it. The wagyu beef was lacking on seasoning and the meat was tough also, and last, the tofu and mushroom skewers were just plain boring.

It followed by a mushy cabbage and potato cake that was burnt on the bottom, topped with two kinds of mayonnaise sauces. We explained that the dish was burnt and they took no notice of this either. Following, we received one of their signature dishes ‘egg omelette with soft shell crab and warm avocado’ that was once again plain greasy.

I forgot to mention, the miso soup was so salty that we had to add table water to make it drinkable. The only good thing of this 'dining experience' was the sake to finish the meal. It is clear that the kitchen staff has no idea of flavour matching and consideration of nutritional value of food. Most of the dishes came out of the deep fryer. Obvious to state they didn’t receive a tip and will certainly not consider a re-visit from us. As a Commercial Cookery teacher, all the best to the rest who eat there!

Good cellar- looking restaurant with attentive service staff, however the banquet meal we had was average. We found that all dishes were lacking in fresh spice flavours and poor presentation. If only the food would match the ambience, we may revisit with a group of friends.

We had for this meal a coupon and paid 50% of the original price that included a bottle wine. Therefore I would rate for value an 8. Nevertheless, it we would have had to pay the full price I would rate the value of this dining experience a 4.

This was our first visit at Left Bank Restaurant and we had a fabulous dining experience. My wife and I had a three-course dinner meal from the a la carte menu and a bottle of white wine and paid $160.00 that we found it was very reasonable for this calibre of restaurant. The only criticism would be that the menu is a bit confusing to read for the reason of its broken down into illogical sections (from the land, sea, land and sea).

Nevertheless, amongst the classy setting, from the service (a lovely and attentive French waiter) to the desserts the crème brulee (that was enough for two people) and the comfortable seats all was magnificent and we will definitely go back. (Two tourists from Sydney).

Overall rating 7.9? This must be a joke! We went to the Tandoori Palace last Friday because of the rave review here on a Eatability.

The food was mediocre. We, four of us had the banquet that included some pre set mixed entree, choice of mains and desserts. The entree lacked on authentic Indian flavours in particular the chicken tikka found very bland. The mains were also served in small protions that also lacked on flavour. Sadly we were served on a tiny table that we couldn't even have our glasses on the table.

The service, what service! We had to ask the waiter several times if she could clear the table and serve us basics such as desserts. This restaurant is definitely not worth the rating and I would recommend anytime MAYA Da DHABA on Cleveland street, Surry Hills or Malabar on Victoria street, Darlinghurst as a good Indian restaurant with a fantastic service. Mind you I am a chef myself. I won't be back there again sorry.
