Ate here on Saturday night for the first time under new ownership. We were apprehensive after reading the reviews but were more than pleased with the food & service. Love the venue for a lazy dinner and BYO allows for an inexpensive meal - 2 people 3 courses each + coffee = $75 / head. Entrees of salmon tartare & prawn dumplings were faultless. Tea smoked salmon for main had my wife in raptures. My duck confit was excellent but skin could have been crisper - picky picky. Loved the creamy mash! Desserts were also excellent and a good cup of coffee. Will go back with friends nearer Christmas.

My wife and I dined here on a Saturday night during a weekend trip to the Coast. It was great to eat somewhere that was there for the locals instead of the tourists (us) down on the main strip. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. The wine list is small but a good selection and very affordable. Only small negatives were that the mains were a little oversalted for our personal tastes and the table next to us had around 20 girls on a night out, a bit noisy but at least they were enjoying themselves. Will definitely go back.

We love this place. Have been to Ghedia's in the current location many times and also to the original location over the last 20 odd years. The flavours in the curries are very clean, not salt laden, and, whilst getting plenty to eat, we do not leave with the usual bloated feeling that you get in most other Indian restaurants in Australia. The pakora starter is especially delicious. Also great to get offered chapatis, great for a hands on approach to eating.

Ate here for the first time on Saturday night and I can say we will definitely be back. It was a birthday celebration so we were not counting the cost but even so at $125 per head including drinks and wine, it is the best value in the CBD. Three people each with a different three courses and each dish equally excellent. Nice relaxed surroundings and professional service. My mouth is watering now as I write this.

Dined here on Saturday night, a very cold night but the restaurant was fairly full. We had the pheasant terrine and the abalone consomme entrees, both were excellent. Mains of beef and pork were also much enjoyed, the crackling was superb. Tasting plate for dessert was a highlight.

Good inexpensive wine list and compared to Sydney prices, whole bill within budget. The only fault, and it is rife in restaurants generally at the moment, is that the food could have been served warmer. I think there is probabaly so much emphasis on presentation that the dishes take too long to plate.

My wife and ate here last Friday. The beef in Guinness high pie was faultless, a massive pie which I could not stop eating. The kangaroo my wife had was a little overcooked but nice anyway. Both meals were piping hot, which is a rarity these days, and contrary to a lot of the reviews the service was polite and hospitable even though the girls are kept very busy. This is a pub afterall and should not be considered otherwise but it exceeded our expectations. I also agree about the beer battered chips, they were excellent.

Have eaten here a few times in groups of 4 and 5. Love the service and general atmosphere of the place. The Fish Tikka is a standout dish and the best Tandoori Chicken. Dishes are flavoursome and not over salty. Not as noisy as the Maya Da Daba across the road.

My wife and I ate here last Friday. Although the restaurant was not very busy there was still a nice welcoming atmosphere. The menu was very good and although we enjoyed what we ordered we both felt all of our meals, entrees, mains and dessert, could have been warmer. There was only 1 person working the floor but we found her excellent and we had no problems with service.
