The food is consistent in taste, but the service consistently below average. I have been here too many times to count, only for convenience and lack of choice in Kogarah. The plus is the coffee, one of the best in town. The staff are generally friendly when they know your face/name, with the odd young waiter providing poor service. Yes, I agree with other reviewers, the service needs improving and after all these years you'd think they'd focus on that by now.

We go here sometimes for dessert and coffee and that's about all. We tried a meal there not so long ago and I was really happy to see seafood chowder on the menu. But it was awful (must have come out of a packet! My advice: stick to desserts and coffee. An average experience overall. Nothing to really rave about.

I had been here a few times some years ago and have recently been back twice. The overall experience is still consistent and satisfying. If you want some mild entertainment whilst enjoying a meal with family/friends this is a good place to start, the entertainment being the chefs and their cooking antics. Look out for the flying egg and rice! Great fun for the kids. Prices are a little high for what you get, but it's worth the extra expense for a really enjoyable night out.

Overrated and what a shame they don't have a really good hard look at their business plan. They could do a whole lot more (and no doubt increase their patronage and profits) by becoming less pretentious and more reasonable in price for what they offer. Yes, the view and location is great but that's all. I have been here several times over many, many years and would not recommend it for a good dining experience. There are better places in Brighton to eat, try them first.

A regular visitor here over the past several years and always happy with the meals and service. The ambience is thwarted somewhat by the large size of the place, but as a group it is still a very nice dining experience. The wait staff are always attentive and smiling, a lot of service outlets could learn from this simple rule or general manner of its' people that is in place at Thai Pathong. Highly recommended.

I had been here many, many years ago a handful of times and enjoyed it, so we went here recently and were the only patrons. The place, as a result, lacked atmosphere. The service was okay, nothing to rave about and the food was reasonable, again, nothing to rave about. Although we left fairly satisfied, I would not return in a hurry.

Overall the food was delicious and the service good. Being seated in the back corner wasn't the best, but I guess someone has to sit there, right? Wait staff were generally attentive (except for one young asian lady who seemed lost and confused, but the other two made up for her lacking) and even the chef (whom we had clear sight of) was jovial and pleasant ("ding" for the bell that was missing, very funny!). We ate a lot and were satisfied with each of the meze dishes we ordered (no mains). A better wine selection would have improved our experience. Recommended.

We are locals and have continually used Mamma Barone as our Pizza take-away of choice. The service is great and the pizzas are wonderful (why people would ever use the chain pizza places I do not know!). Our fave's are the Napoletana and the Marinara pizzas, and we often have the garlic crust pizza. Good prices for good food, especially when you don't feel like cooking yourself at home.
