Garuva - the place to be, definitely one of the zenest places in Brisbane. The partitioned curtain 'cubicles' give enough peace of mind and tranquility to set the ambience - the sounds make you aware that you are not alone... We first went to the lounge room out the back where freshly squeezed cocktails were served. This was followed by a return trip to curtain heaven where we sat on pillows and had our wine and food brought on a giant tray. Excellent stuff!! The food was delightful but the portions a little on the light side. Anyway, it was definitely an awesome experience and I would recommend it to all!

I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. The food was great although the lime pickle was way too salty - everything else was yummy. The hot Vindaloo was not as 'Indian Hot' as the waiter stated and two wine glasses were not clean and it took forever to have our order taken. Apart from this, I really loved the butter chicken, the garlic nan, the Prawn Marsala and the beef vindaloo. The atmosphere was nice and the place was packed out for a Thrusday night. The cost was very attractive and I would recommend this Indian restaurant to others, just check your glasses for cleanliness.

The Harem looks awesome. The atmosphere was good although I am sure that things spice up once the Belly Dancers arrive. We went on a Tuesday and it wasn't too bad - there was a traditional two man band playing and Turkish style dance/rai during their breaks. The food was great - I had the mixed grill but it took the waiteresses a while to come around to take our order. It wasn't too bad plus it gave me the chance to go back to the bottle shop and buy a second bottle of red. The apple tea was just amazing - strongly recommended. And the water pipes, well since the Government brought in the no-smoking laws these have been scratched from the menu. Definitely worth checking out between Thursday and Saturday night (these are the nights when the dancers come out and play apparently).

Lunches at Bella Notte are always delicious and cheap - however you will spend your entire lunch hour and then some before your food is served so make sure you have someone to keep you company or a good book to read. The $10 Baramundi fillets, fries and salad or Steak, fries and salad lunch specials are a definite winner. The food is good and the sauces are saucy, just bear in mind the time factor otherwise, this place gets a definite thumbs up.

Sambal fish!! Yeah, you just have to love that deep fried salty crusted fish that is oh so divine underneath!! I have been here a few times and I must say, the service is friendly but very reserved however, the food is delicious and very nicely priced. Last time I went, the waiter told us that the kitchen was in "chaos". Never mind chaos! Bring out the Singaporean Chili crabs, the Mongolian beef and the salty pepper calamari! Every time I've been to Singapura, I've been made to sit in the front area and I would just love to try the atmosphere out in the 'main' dining area where they have those lovely scenic cut-outs. I might just have to ask to be seated there in the future. It is a great experience overall.

The only reason I go to the Norm is for steaks and value for premium quality meat - that's it. Otherwise, it's pretty much 'get your own a la self-serve'. The atmosphere is ok. Once you have made a booking and get there, you have no idea where you're supposed to sit or who to talk to. There is no one to greet you or explain what is going on or how to order food or where your reserved table is located. I would definitely go back for the Steaks, not for the service.
