I've been here a few times. I've had awesome, friendly service, and I've also had shocking service receiving my food 30 minutes after the first person at our table got their food. When I approached the manager about it, he told me: "The chefs cook it fresh and make different dishes at different times..." - but I see people who ordered the same food as I ordered and getting theirs served before I did.

Oh well, I shouldn't really complain as the food is exotic, simple and just tastes delightful! I have to agree a little with Musrag about the sitting arrangements, but you quickly get over it if you have good company, you can focus on your conversation and get on with it.

It was a very, very quiet Thursday late lunch (about 1:00 pm). We were the only ones being served and the waiter was very friendly and present (as we would expect for such a quiet lunch break).

We ordered our food and it came on time and the burger and salad were lovely. For a $19 salad, it was a very tiny serving and it's a good thing as my partner is on a diet. I understand why the price is such as I went to the toilet, I saw that there were 3 guys working in the kitchen and two guys serving at the front, all for only 2 customers.

The location is fantastic but it's a shame that there were no customers to make it a bit more lively.

I have mixed feelings about La Dolce Vita. I had spaghetti Bolognese and I swear the chef must have been in love as the sauce was very sweet, must have dropped the sugar jar or something. The service has always been very consistent and the waiters are ready to serve. Little over priced for cafe cuisine...

Awesome steaks! Pity about the service. Waiter never took our drinks order, never brought us a drinks list. When our drinks eventually arrived, he spilt two all over the table and onto my friend's digital SLR camera. Value is good and the steaks are awesome, just make sure you take an umbrella and a megaphone with you.

Wood fired oven - check
Crusty pizza base - check
Italian atmosphere - not check
Bland tasting pizza - check

I was very disappointed by all the hype surrounding Beccofino's pizzas. We ordered the prosciutto and the prawn pizza. That's basically all they had - dough, tomato base, bocconcini, prosciutto and rocket... the prawn was the same except minus the prosciutto and rocket and replace with prawns. Very, very bland tasting - no herbs to top it off, no capers, no garlic in the tomato sauce... hmmm am I missing something here? I know light, crusty pizzas is the way to go, but this is really exaggerated.

As for the service, it was just normal. Nothing more than the norm, no special effort or friendly smiles, just normal service.

Oh yeah, and the $20 we paid for each pizza seems rather reasonable since we purchased prawns and prosciutto, but I would definitely recommend rechecking their service and the final touch on those pizzas - they have the perfect setup for something amazing.

Wet pizza dough served with a blunt pizza wheel, I've never seen it in my life! Although the concept is creative and very cool, it would work if the pizza cutter was actually sharp and the pizza's dough was crispy. What on earth is going on here? Wet, soggy dough that has come out of the pizza oven?

Something is definitely not right here. Service was very attentive and friendly, chef was friendly. Atmosphere was welcoming and ambience was warm. Pity about the pizzas.

I am actually trying to get a booking to go to this restaurant. I keep calling their number and no one picks up. I've tried at all hours of the day and in the evening as well when they are supposed to be having a dinner service and nothing, nada, zilch, not even an answering machine to leave a message.

I tried to email them (hello bsabrina) and the email bounced. What on earth is this? How am I supposed to make a booking to go to this restaurant if I can't reach them??? That's really bad customer service.

Absolutely fantastic. The food was so lovely, we had the Canard a l'orange and the snapper with creamy saffran sauce... Yummy. The wine list is a mind-blow! Since we went to the Chateauneuf-du-Pape region of France last year, I ordered the Chateauneuf-du-Pape telegramme which was full bodied, yet subtle, with a slight hint of Frangipanis.

Our waiter was very attentive and constantly ready to serve professionally and with a smile. I thought he was French at first but when I tried some French on him he didn't seem to understand so my next guess was Chilean... He turned out to be Mexican - what a delight! Such a friendly gentleman.

Will definitely come back to Montrachet. The reason I gave the ambience a 9 is because the only thing that was missing was a French guy playing his accordeon in the corner.

The one thing that I would recommend about this place is the eye fillet. Sorry to all vegetarians, but I must say that I had one of the best eye fillets of my life served in this restaurant. Actually, the eye fillet came out raw on a hot stonegrill plate (heated to 400 degrees Celsius) and you basically cook your steak as you like it.

The meat was so succulent and tender. Amazing!! There were a couple of things that left to be desired. Firstly, our waitress was a little 'in the clouds'. She walked past our table 4 times before I had to ask her for a menu. The tiny serve of fries that came with the steak was a bit ridiculous and there was no room for me to eat the salad as the stonegrill took up most of the table and it was radiating with heat.
The price was definitely worth it. Make sure you take your entertainment guide with you as we had a $30 discount and reduced the price of our dinner by half!

The first thing that struck me when I stepped into the Portside Whard SONO was the atmosphere and the perfect decoration. I completely forgot that I was in Brisbane and the mood took me away to another place. The food and service was spot on, attention to detail and the waitresses made sure that our wine glasses were full and that we were satisfied at all times. I know that Japanese cuisine serves very small portions but the sashimi platter was decent sized.

The bill wasn't too bad, it cost us around $50 each for 4 people but for I think it is not too bad for the experience and memories of SONO. People who complain that it is expensive should go to the local fish and chip shop where you can buy battered flake and greasy chips for $8.00. I definitely recommend taking your partner to SONO for a very special and romantic outing. It really made my day. Thank you SONO. 10/10 for atmosphere and service.
