To get a delicious beef pho at a wonderful price is one of the best reasons for visiting Marrickville, these are Vietnamese ghetto prices and I even use the same barber in this suburb and he charges just $10 for a cut! Thuy Huong is grungy and greasy, so it's not the place you want to hang around, but to pop in and get served so quickly and free tea - and always friendly - is exactly why I go there - but then more importantly is the rare beef pho with stacks of chilli just hits the spot every time - ingredients are always fresh and if you have the flu, this is a great dish to load up on fresh chilli and kill all the bugs.

For a start, the best trout I ever had in Sydney. What I appreciate about Peroni's is it has a classical restaurant presentation, big and old-school and spacious, but then the food takes the experience up another notch. But it's not pretentious so is really a place to relax and enjoy dining like it was in the 70s and 80s - at the best places anyway. Also the prices here are very low for what you get, filling serves but presented nicely. I hope Peroni's never change and I can enjoy the same experience ten years from now.

Went for a Friday lunch and had a brilliant time, started with the bruscetta (tomato one and a pumpkin one, both perfect) and then some lovely zucchini flowers. Owner Tony was very chatty and welcoming which on this occasion was entirely suitable, he talked about where he got his produce from which I like too (if I was there for a romantic dinner I might not have liked it, but since it was a lunch with friends it was cool) Then I had an excellent linguine marinara, very big serve, no room for dessert. Had Italian white wine with the lunch, very unusual for me as I normally never drink before 6pm. All I can conclude was I was clearly enjoying myself!

Response from Management:
Thank you for your kind and honest review of your visit to Vinnies. Hope to see you again soon. Cheers

A friend gave me a dining voucher as an engagement gift for me and my now wife, and we loved it so much we ended up going back with the whole family for a Saturday lunch which was idyllic (and lengthy). Pricey enough that you wouldn't want to dine there every week, but for a quality escape from day-to-day life Sails is it. We had a faultless experience.
