My favourite place in Melbourne. Great ambience, very trendy and a bit alternative but the best part is that the service is amazing. Many people shy away from cafes that look a little bit hipster, but the service here ensures that everyone feels welcome. Prices very reasonable, paying upmarket cafe prices for what is good quality restaurant food. Salads are amazing. Blood orange granita my favourite. They have a huge range of award winning coffees too.

Wow. Living just across the street for a short time while I worked in Melbourne, Cafe 58 became my go to place for dinner when I didn't feel like cooking. On my first visit I let Van take the wheel and order for me, and it was so worth it. The best Thai beef salad you will ever have, it is like no other. And the green curry, out of this world, it had an almost bluey tinge to it and I couldn't even compare it to any other green curry. Vegetarian rice paper rolls are something special. So sad that it's in a different state to me!

Overpriced average food with couldn't care less service. Buffalo wings were ok nothing special at all, for the price was expecting something amazing. Ribs, again, very average, dry and with a weird sauce. Waiter seemed keen to go home and therefore was rushed in serving us, left finished entree plates on table after serving mains, didn't bring drinks, forgot to give napkins, and when reminded (nicely!) of this received an eye roll and a sigh. Hmmm.

My family have been coming here for years and I never went because I'm not a fan of Indian... until now. Yum. Garlic naan was amazing. Samosas and all curries were delicious, including butter chicken which I know isn't considered 'authentic' but still so yummy. And fantastic friendly service, particularly from Mrs Jazzi who was over the moon to have changed my mind about Indian food at last!

In a similar boat as other reviewers, I am sad to say that whilst I really really want FFS to be somewhere I can come regularly, it just always is a disappointment. Shame, the atmosphere and the staff are lovely and fun. Some of the food is actually quite good, such as dishes with the slow cooked beef or pork, but the portion sizes are a dealbreaker.

For two people you end up paying at least $35 a head (and that's when we were watching what we were spending) and since you are paying quite a bit for not a lot, you just feel let down. Really genuinely disappointed because Sydney needs great Mexican!

Nice place for a casual but tasty lunch. Staff are always very friendly and eager to accommodate you. Food is good value, fairly cheap but good sized servings and always yummy. Mainly mod oz, sandwiches, burgers, salads etc. with the occasional throw in of Asian noodle dishes/dumplings. Great place if you want to avoid pricey and trendy Surry Hills cafes and instead just want some peace and quiet and a satisfying feed that's easy on the wallet.

My mother started eating her with her parents in the 80s, and now we as her children go with her. Such a lovely, honest and family driven restaurant. Always packed over the weekend with a smile on everyone's face. Yes the decor probably hasn't been touched since the 1970s, but that's part of the charm. Service always friendly, food always hits the spot. Mum's favourite - chicken and ham rolls.

Dropped in for lunch after seeing a yummy looking pulled pork and coleslaw sandwich on the specials board. Going inside, the place was gorgeous, wood everywhere but with quirky little pot plants here and there. Menu is impressive, ended up getting the pork sandwich and a seared bonito salad. Unfortunately both dishes were average. Salad was odd at room temperature, soggy and bland. Pulled pork was cold, lumped together and scooped on to burnt sourdough. More like a confit pork perhaps. Chips were soggy and undercooked. But coleslaw was delicious. Love the menu and the new look of the place but at this stage food doesn't live up to expectations.

Perfect little cafe for lunch in the city. Foccacias, tasting plates and pizzas are delicious, and the minestrone is homemade and one of the best I've had. Try the milanese foccacia - Yum. Great coffee, good service and pleasant inner-city ambience.

Reviewing DYH for the food and the dining experience, all I can say is wow. For a pub, this is probably as good as it gets. The new fitout is beautiful. It is very modern and quite edgy, and as others have pointed out it does have somewhat of a warehouse feel, but I think that aspect is great and gives the place a really spacious and upmarket feel.

The menu is great, even if the place was a stand alone restaurant I'd be impressed but for a pub it's amazing. Probably a perfect mod oz style menu, good offering of pub classics (eg burgers and schnitzels) with a modern, gourmet twist (eg beef burger with a delicious beetroot relish and wedges with homemade aioli), salads, pizzas, seafood, share plates and desserts.

All the food is fairly upmarket and really establishes DYH as a 'gastro-pub'. Think I'm rambling a bit but I really can't get over how great DYH is as a dining venue. Obviously as a pub things do get a bit louder past 9pm, but this place manages to do both the dining and pub experiences fantastically. Love it.
