We have dined there three times now and all with memorable experiences. Good food and great service. Definitely worthy of "one hat". A minor suggestion to go up to "two hats" - increase the number of wines by the glass and the quality of the free/complimentary "shot" at the start of the dinner. Excellent restaurant and from what we have been told, better than others.

Last night was my first dine in experience at Cheeky Chocolate and while the fit-out and ambience was quite impressive, my friend and I both walked out very disappointed with the service. We arrived at around 7pm but by 9.30pm we had received at least 6 hints from the waiters who were trying to rush us along. From giving us the bill 45 minutes after our arrival, to wiping a completely bare table Twice, we felt anything but welcomed.

We went there last week for lunch and we asked for the "beer of the day" @ $5 a pop. The waitress stated that the beer of the day was available and we asked for 4 beers. A head waiter came and told us that they had no cheap beer left ("it ran out on thursday"). Consequently we ordered the more expensive beer. We were dumbfounded when someone who made a regular booking got a $5 beer of the day in a brown paper bag while we paid $8-50 each. Very poor. Food was ok though. Won't ever go back!

We had heard so much about this restaurant from Masterchef and finally came to try it out.
We first ordered @ 7-40 pm and didn't get our entrees until 8-45 pm. in between we were told our entrees went out @ 8.07 pm, however, these obviously went to the wrong table. Our entrees were, however, good with attention to detail. We waited for about another 40 minutes for our mains. The rabbit ragout had so much salt it was inedible, the pasta came from a packet from either Coles or Woolworths (not made on the premises) and the sauce was like water.
As for my cottage pie it had way too much salt. All I could do was to drink as much water as I could as the salt made me incredibly thirsty. From memory, Hayden from our area on the northern beaches got kicked off for cooking with too much salt. As for the senior staff, all he did all night was speak to some of the other diners and he obviously didn't care about the food or service.
He think's he's a superstar but he wouldn't even be allowed in our kitchen at home because he's not up to scratch! there was no apology from him, he got his staff to do the apology. He should learn to preach what he teaches! we did, however, manage to get our entrees and a glass of bilecart champagne for free (about $70 value).
Overall, a very disappointing experience. Not worth going to Melbourne for. Definitely not fine dining.
