I've been to Laksa King plenty of times, just cause it was cheap and the laksa's pretty good, not amazing. They make decent spring rolls, and fried calamari. The last time I went I ordered beef with vegetables and black bean sauce, i fell ill within an hour. I would say this place is ok, totally over hyped, but i reckon fine if you want to get a quick laksa.

Careful what you choose other than that though.. Oh, and if there are two of you, the only two seat tables are next to service areas where waiters walk past all the time, so if you don't mind being bumped here and there that's ok, but otherwise it's better to go with at least three people.

I've only had the pizzas there. Good price and decent pizza, good combo of both affordable and good pizza. For what it is, the ambient's fine, as in it's not a hipster joint, it's a post-war italian migrant restaurant, so the interior naturally reflects this. The only other two near here that are decent and still affordable are Iliana's and Bar Fred's in Brunswick East, both on Nicholson Street.

The best pizza in Italy should never really even cost more than $10, but if you're prepared to spend more than that then maybe go to I Carusi on holmes street and Meine Liebe where they're happy to charge you around $25.
