I've lived in Annandale for quite a while and this kind of shop was exactly what we have been wanting! After a pretty good start I've got to say, some of the staff are pretty poor, particularly one of the ladies who take orders (not the boys Mum) - if you don't want to do the job, please just don't do it. The two words are Customer and Service. Food is hit and miss though. Best fried calamari I've had in a long time, fish can be bland and tasteless sometimes and great on other occasions, chips are advertised as hand cut but are clearly not and some cuts of fish are pretty damn expensive for what you get. Same as any restaurant, happy to pay if the food, service and experience match. The really frustrating part is, all in all, it's not a bad fish & chip shop, but the experience from the grumpy lady when ordering, ruins it every time I go there! PS - clearly they've found the time to write the high rating sales pitches here on Eatability too!

Yet another great evening at what is becoming a stalwart in Surry Hills dining! The food is always fresh and fantastic! The service matches the wonderful menu and ambience! There was 7 of us tonight and the owner took it upon himself to put together a menu for us and even poured our wines and made sure every course was perfect!

We will definitely be back and we'll be telling all our mates cause we know they won't be disappointed!

The food here is absolutely fantastic! No Question!

The service was slow in that it took a number of "eye contacts" with one of the ample staff on service tonight. Once we grabbed their attention and they took our order etc, the service was prompt and professional. It appeared that it was just a little disorganised.

Nonetheless, the food, ambience and overall experience was very enjoyable. We'll definitely be back. If you regularly enjoy a dinning experience, you will not be disappointed here.

The Coppa and Smashed Pea entree was a 10 out of 10 and the grilled barramundi not far behind. All the meals were had were great apart from the gnocchi which was probably only a 5 out of 10 but tasty nontheless. The service was fine and friendly but they looked like they were maybe one person down on the night but still no complaints. It is definitely worth a visit and we will surely be back for a second tasting!

Surprisingly empty for a Friday night. Food was good quality, didn't skimp on quality, flavour or size. The Fish Pie was as a fish pie should be, didn't blow me a way but ticked all the boxes just the same! The table near the kitchen is a bit bright and exhaust fan loud, but, otherwise, the restaraunt seems quite nice.

$200 for two people, entree, main, good bottle of wine and coffee's, represents pretty good value for the reasonably high quality of food we enjoyed. No Tetsuya, but it's not trying to be! Would be go back, no reason why we wouldn't. Deserves to be a hell of a lot busier than we saw it! I think summer in the courtyard would be pretty special.

Not really French or Vietnamese, more Vietnamese than French though! Fantastic service particularly as it was a large crowd trying to get their attention at once. Its a small space but a lively one! Will definitely be back to check out the rest of the menu and will probably need another visit as well because the menu looks fantastic.

Despite waiting more than 15 minutes to get glasses for our wine, we were first asked for our order (and asked for the glasses) and from then on it was far from slow but was always friendly!

The freshly made soft shell crab sushi rolls were fantastic as was the sashimi/sushi plate. As always the tuna was the finest fish and literally melted in the mouth, however, all were fantastic. All our dishes were served with quick timing, which works well with a Japanese menu.

The Chicken Teryaki Don is one of the best Teryaki's I've had. Marinated meat... not just a sauce! With corkage, spectacularly great value for money at $58 for 4 fab dishes! Great value for money! This is the best value Japanese restaurant and it would stand up against any similar restaurant, every day of the week. We'll definitely be back regularly!

PAUL1270 sounds like he's a bit disappointed his 20 years in restaurants hasn't worked so well for him.

Bay Tinh is still great value for money! Anyone who thinks this resaurant is pricey obviously doesn't eat out alot! Yes it's busy... which speaks volumes for the quality and value of the food. If you want a restaurant with more space and you live nearby... you know what to expect!

Keep up the good work Bay Thinh. We and all our friends will continue to come back! Nice Decor too!!!!!
