I went on a casual date with a female friend to Assiette last night and was very impressed. We had the degustation each 10 or 11 courses with wines, I was sooo full but the food was excellent. As a lover of sea food my favourite was the oyster as well as a special pork number made by a friend of mine who was a chef there. The older female waiter was very friendly and helpful and made you feel relaxed.

I would recommend this place as a great second date/apology dinner/or upper class broad wanting somewhere nice but in the hills rough area, so a little dangerous but smooth. The table spacing was excellent we were less than 1 meter from 4 tables but felt as if we had the place to ourselves. All in all not much stopped this place form straight 10's. Highly recommend.

I went to Beppi's for a work lunch with two younger male clients and my old female boss and found the old school Italian waiters to be very accommodating to all. The brought the fresh fish for us to choose which made selecting easy and all was cooked to perfection. The restaurant was a little quiet for a Friday lunch which I found some what concerning but that added to the perceived exclusivity. This would be a great second date place with trendy wine bars near by to finish the night. Not that I paid from my pocket but price was ok, well worth a nice family dinner or cheapish closing date. .xx :-) oo.

I found GPD to be over priced for what seem quality home style bistro food. However, I knew that before I went so should winge. I called up at 4:00 on friday and got a table that night so I praise the staff and girl at the desk, I was lucky I guess. My date loved the food and atmosphere with a reasonably priced wine list, I live around the corner and find GPD to be a fine additional the usual cluster of indian thai and other that makes up glebe. Thumbs up.

As a staunch meat lover I was immediately critical of going but I was very soon converted by the decor + friendly/cool staff and great Asian Italian Australian fusion food. This is a great first date place with bars close by and cosey yet none intimidating atmosphere, plus your look cultured when you don't order half a dead animal. One of top 5 places in Sydney.

I went to Mecca bar for my mothers birthday and immediately was offended by how rude the maitre d was, we were sat outside at 6:00 when there was clearly room for 2 in a 4/5 empty restaurant. After that they were slow to bring menus and offer light refreshment. The food was expensive but cheaply made with $25 dishes containing $3 of chicken a $2 of cuscus and tomato. The only redeeming factor which stooped me form leaving and not paying was the kind manors of the obviously inexperienced waiter. This was one of the worst meals of my life. I signed up to eatbility just to post this comment. Do not go to Mecca Bah!
