Came here because no other restaurants were open. But it was not disappointing. The place is very cosy, however, a slight renovation to modernised the restaurant would greatly improve the atmosphere. Overall, the food was great. Mains are better when compared with their dessert and entree.

Bistrode, Surry Hills

Bistrode is a very intimate restaurant, great place for a relaxing dinner. The food are very very fresh and innovative. Menu changes slightly every single time my partner and I goes there which is refreshing.

For entree, the smoked eel with bacon is very flavourful. The portion is quite small but the taste is amazing. The soup and salad selections are also great. Not a big fan of the corned wagyu beef but other than that, the rest of the menus are great.
Bistrode has the best dessert that I've ever tasted. Valrhona Chocolate Fondant with mint ice cream. This is just the most exquisite dessert. The cake is not too sweet, and when you get to the centre it's wonderful warm dark chocolate melting away. I love this dessert so much that I did not share it with my partner. It's too good.

I think 2 chef's hat will be coming soon. So go there before it gets too busy.
