Turned up on a Friday evening with out a booking expecting not to get in but it was quiet. We had exceptional service, and I don't say that lightly, the pasta is really lovely, simple not over saucy and hand made. A great dinner and will come back for sure.

I was encouraged to come here for my birthday dinner and was initially hesitant as I don't normally like this style of food, however, I was so impressed and found the dishes light and perfectly formed, the pea fondant was just great, and we had the 4 course dessert degustation to share and it was outstanding. A real treat!

Here on a Friday evening around 9pm, this is my second visit here and I really like this space. What you see is what you get, yes it's rustic, and it kind of feels like you're in someones kitchen but I happen to prefer that to the polished, noisy wine bars at this end of town. I think the cheese plate is really good value, and the service was not that bad.

We rocked up on Sunday night without a booking & were welcomed & seated at the bar. This was a great experience as the attentive service and discussions with the waiter about the menu enhanced the evening and made this a memorable dining experience. Wine by the glass is limited, and the menu is expensive, though perfectly nice food; it’s possibly a bit over hyped but still good especially the sizzling beef dish.

We had dinner here on a quiet Saturday night, the food was great, love the shared portions and the Middle Eastern flavours, the specials were a nice surprise with the snapper and prawn sausage a highlight. We have had lunch here also on a busy weekend and found service still fast and food tasty. I like this place a lot.

Newtown is a suburb which is spoilt for choice when it comes to dining and Twelve does not stand up against the others. Had dinner here with my partner on a Saturday night, we had a booking and were served promptly. However, after watching those around us who arrived later get their meals first we asked where our food may be, they then took about 15 further minutes to work this out.

After much confusion and around 45 minutes wait my partners steak arrived with our starter at the same time, my meal was lost for a further 10 minutes. In addition the wine by the glass was tainted and generally service was a shocker. The food, not great nor good value, my prawn pasta had no flavour, and after 45 minutes a med-rare steak came out very rare. I question what the service is doing as there were enough staff on the floor they just were not organised. We won't eat here again.

Friday lunch with a large group, I have been before and the food ok, however, don’t go near the Beef Burger, it was vile and inedible, it was uncooked and possibly sausage meat, and had a strange smell and taste. Two of us in the group had this and could not eat them. When I mentioned this to the waitress she just looked at me and said nothing. Not really acceptable.

Here for lunch on Sunday, it was full and busy but there are a lot of floor staff doing not a lot and the kitchen was clearly swamped, help them out! In fairness the coffees were fast, however, 40 minutes later one of our sandwiches arrived, and then the other in another 5 minutes. Service is lack lustre, no one checks back with you and even when I asked for water it never arrived, that instantly cancels your tip. Not sure what the hype is about this cafe.

I had great hopes for this place and went for dinner and drinks early Saturday evening, wine was good and atmosphere was nice, it’s a tight arrangement but that is expected and all things considered I did like this place. That is until we waited almost an hour for our dinners, (and it was not that busy) when I found someone to help find out what went wrong they said they did not get the order in the kitchen, strange as I watched it punched into the system.

There is no proper table numbering system so that is also a worry. My partner was so angry he told them to give us our money back and we left to eat Thai down the road. Pity the menu looked ok. The offer of a complimentary glass of wine might win over some but I needed food not more alcohol. Sorry but service is a little laissez-faire.

Here for a recent Sunday lunch, we had expected to wait a little, but 1 hour was too much. Most dishes at the table were good I am told, mine was cold. We used to come here often a few years back, but since prices have risen and service wained.
