I stumbled recently on this hidden gem in Newtown. After living in Sydney my whole life, I can't believe I never tried this restaurant before. The decor is extremely authentic with Thai artwork, sculptures, and majestic lamps creating a magical environment for a dinner or birthday party. It is probably the largest Thai restaurant in Australia, and there's reason why.

The staff are attentive and give exceptional service, the food is amazing and a notch above all the usual Thai restaurant, and the wine list and food selection caters for every taste. I highly recommend this restaurant as one of the best Asian food restaurants in Sydney. Great for birthdays, parties and functions. Awesome!

I think this restaurant is great. The servings are really generous and the food and sushi is fresh. I really liked the sushi platter with an assortment of tuna, salmon, prawn, and scallops. Yum, yum. Service was quick and attentive.

I went to La Kasbah on a Saturday night with my girlfriend and 2 friends of ours. The interior and decor is very traditional and it was definitely a cultural experience. It's a family business so the service was very attentive and friendly. Food was awesome and flavorful. I especially liked the seafood tajine and the mixed platter entree. The cous cous was light so you didn't feel too heavy after dinner. Highly recommend it for a truly Moroccan experience.

Wasabi Bar & Bistro, Darlinghurst

Had dinner last weekend at the new Wasabi Bar and Bistro in Darlinghurst. The ambience is lightly lit at night with the city skyline in full view which was nice. The restaurant was quite busy so there was a buzz about the place but not too loud you couldn't enjoy company.

It was quite a trendy atmosphere inside and the food was fresh and yummy. A slight modern edge to traditional Japanese dishes. My girlfriend and I enjoyed the spicy Sashimi salad and Teriyaki salmon as well as the sizzling Wagyu beef the best. A good spot to head out from after a nice dinner.
