I went here with a few girlfriends for a casual night out and it was great. The lasagne was especially nice!

Ocean Room is a beautifully designed restaurant and the food is pretty to match. In terms of taste, it's decent but not mindblowing, though the dessert platter is definitely worth your time!

Roti canai, satay chicken skewers and sweet roti with banana slices every single time, delicious! Although, the queues really kill the experience.

A friend and I went to Guillaume's for my birthday and did the pre-theatre. This is excellent value. I loved my seared scallop entree, as well as the beef main which was amazinnnngggg. The desserts were a bit of a let down, not that great compared to the rest of the meal, but for those views, spectacular service and three courses for $78 - it was a bargain!

This place is absolutely shocking. There were so many things that I hated about it... But here are the two key things -

1. The service was atrocious. Forget trying to flag down a waiter, they will all ignore you. Asking for anything requires a minimum of 5 - 10 minute wait as they dawdle along. We ordered mud crab and when we asked for hot water with lemon to wash our hands, the waiter brought out iced water with lemon, then when we tried again, he brought out boiling hot water, and only on the third try did they get it right. This shouldn't have even have happened, as you normally get this brought out automatically with the seafood.

2. They overcharged us. The menu clearly said (roughly) $19 for a duck and when the bill came out, we were charged $38 for duck - and the same happened with chicken. When we argued that it said $19 for a duck and not a half duck, we were told that we should have assumed because $19 is obviously too cheap.

3. We weren't given most of the complimentary pre's and after's. Each table around us was served soup before the meal and given a small fruit platter, sweet soup and biscuits after their meal. We only received a small plate of biscuits.

Other than that, it is basically like dining in a market place where waiters practically throw the china at you, there is no sense of hospitality whatsoever and the food isn't even great. Never again and I would never recommend it to anyone!

I've been to The Tea Room four times now and each time is unfortunately worse than the previous. Their food is average, as is the coffee but there is a wide selection of tea. On my last visit I was very displeased with a few things as well. However, the scones and the jam here are great!

My new favourite sushi train in Sydney! This place has a huge variety of food, really flavoursome and delicious food, and all at $3 a pop for all sushi and side dishes. Hit the link for photos and more - http://xchristinethai.wordpress.com/2011/09/01/sushi-hotaru-sydney-cbd/

The food here is really great, and really decently priced for something to come out of Merivale. I loved the mini banh mi and the prawn toast. Hit the link for more and photos.

It'd be a nice place to go for a coffee with friends, and I liked the mango + lychee iced tea, as well as the iced milk chocolate mocha but as a place to go for tapas or an actual meal, probably not. Although the beef burgers make a really good snack.
