I'm a local living nearby for three years now. I should have written earlier here based on how much I love this place.
The food goes from strength to strength. The salt and pepper squid in my opinion, is the best in Sydney. I get it on every menu at other Asian restaurants because I love it so much but nothing has come close to their version! It's best enjoyed when eating in because it's fresh, always loses a little something when it has to be packed in a plastic container and shipped around, though even then it's still good.
The BBQ chicken, beef or pork are all winners and a vegetarian option with the curries will see your plate filled with lots of lovely bright, fresh, perfectly cooked vegies, just what you want! Not a couple of sad green bits floating in sauce like others restaurants I've tried.
The interior has seen a lot of good work and it's a really pleasant place to dine. The staff couldn't do enough for you. And the prices are really good value for money. Doesn't get a huge amount of dining in but it should, the area is lacking in this kind of thing. It would be a great place to take a group too.
Pumin Thai is a gem, and a perfect affordable dinner out for two any night of the week. If you haven't been yet do yourself a favour, grab a bottle of wine from the bottle shop across the street, get a table for two by the window, start with the squid for your entree and go from there. You won't be disappointed.

I met some friends here for dinner on a Friday. The food was really good. The duck pancakes are incredible and being dumpling fans we tried about 6 different types. The beef and the lamb ones weren't really to my taste but that's not a common dumpling choice for me usually anyway. The spinach and prawn and vegetarian were just divine! The 'mini pork buns' were sadly, not the little fluffy white delights full of BBQ pork I had anticipated, they're just a kind of heavy, standard style of pork dumpling, so avoid if you're seeking the traditional style. The food was prompt, the service took a little while to warm up (a smile goes a long way and it took a while to get one) but still it was efficient. As it's BYO - some wine buckets for the table would be a good idea. Great value for money, I'll go back for sure.

Came here with a friend for a catch up over dinner after reading great reviews.
I was very happy with the food, the place was empty on arrival at 6:30pm on a Wednesday but over half full by the time we left.
Bad points - only one waitperson, absolutely lovely and qualified but completely run off her feet all night. Our many finished, dirty plates all sat on the table after dinner for well over an hour while we continued to chat, and were only cleared after we asked them to be and sought dessert. They need to cough up for a second waitperson if their popularity is growing. Also the place gets way too loud even with a few people so they need to look at some furnishings to absorb the sound.
Good points - Green Papaya Salad, Sang Choy Bow, Bo Luc Lac, Crispy Skin Duck, Banana Fritter - divine! All meals came out promptly, food was delicious and fresh, and paying just a couple dollars extra compared to other local places results in getting a much finer quality cuisine, taste and presentation. It's nicely decorated and feels intimate without being dark great for dates or groups, not sure about kids with the noise factor, if they could take care of that it would be a much more pleasant place to spend an evening.
I'm a local so I'm stoked they're in town and can't wait to go back and try more on the menu.

Went to Jamie's for lunch today. While we were told to expect up to a 45 minute wait when we arrived at midday for a table for two (which we expected to hear) after sitting inside at the bar for just under thirty minutes we were shown to a table.
At the bar we'd ordered the baked mushrooms with cheese and it was quite nice though the crust was dark brown and overcooked around the outside so inedible.
We both ordered entree size mains ($15.50) and a side salad ($5.50) so prices were reasonable.
Entree size is definitely entree size, expect a small kid size portion. My friend had mushroom ravioli which she said was nice, and the green salad which looked good though came showered in grated parmesan. I got the prawn linguine and honestly, it was slightly undercooked pasta (yes I understand the concept of 'aldente' this was still undercooked) and a few tiny sad pieces (not even chunks) of prawn sitting in a luke warm bath of what was flavourless and watery tomato broth.
Honestly, it was the most regrettable pasta dish I have ever eaten and I certainly expected a Lot more from this place. The staff was lovely, but for a pasta restaurant, oh my goodness. That pasta dish was pathetic. Definitely not going back.
