My wife and I ate here last week and I am very surprised at the ratings.
We both had the banquet and there was nothing in it which really impressed. The entree was a mixed platter of 4 components and was cold when presented with some components appearing to be re-heated by microwave, the butter chicken was poor in flavour and the chicken was well overcooked, the lamb dish was better in flavour, and the dessert (indian ice-cream like) was okay but quite difficult to eat.
Overall, we were disappointed. The ambience is quite good with nice furnishings and a nice feel. The food, however, is below par and I wouldn't be rushing back in a hurry. I found it to be quite expensive for what was presented, however, there was plenty of food on offer overall.

Based on the ratings system, this will always fall down for ambience as it is located in an old shopping arcade. The position is not ideal. Service was also average or just above when we went there last week.
However, the food is fantastic and I'd recommend anyone who enjoys sub-continental type food to give this a go. The menu is slightly unusual, but I found the aduwa lamb, the scallops, and another vegetarian dish in which I can't remember the name as among the best I've ever had.
Frankly the food was almost to chef hat standard if there were such a thing for Himalayan food. Will be back for sure.

Overall, a very good restaurant with traditional italian cuisine. Would be happy to make this my local. This restaurant allows BYO at a low cover charge.
My meal here was veal saltimbocca (~$25), which was very good and dessert was a vanilla bean panna cotta (~$9). The main was very good and the dessert was above average. My wife did not enjoy her meal as much, although, she ordered a dish which was not on the menu.
This restaurant has a good reputation from others I have spoken to and our experienced reflected that reputation. I have given the food a 7, however, it is close to an 8, albeit, I am comparing this (as I always do) against other restaurants with chef's hats which would normally get an 8 or 9 from me.

We had a voucher from Cudo to this place and the owner refused to honour despite our booking. The reason given was that he had no mozzarella cheese. On that basis, we said we would be happy with something else. He then said that he makes no money out of the vouchers and unless we were prepared to pay full price (voucher excluded), then we would have to leave.
Rather unfortunate really. So, we left and I've added this.
The first time I've had to resort to this (given all my past reviews), but it had to be done. The owner doesn't deserve his business.

We started with the mixed entree. Unfortunately, some of the pastry items appear to have been heated by microwave and so the pastry was soft. The mains were quite good. We had a butter chicken and a traditional Pakastani dish (the name escapes me).
The dessert was a traditional Indian dessert and was average, but I find that to not be unusual for Indian desserts. The value here is in their promotion of buying an entree and a main and getting another main free for dinner (works out at around $30). The other offer is a take-away deal with 2 mains and a rice for $20 on certain days. That is certainly good value. The restaurant is also BYO at $3 corkage, so overall good value is to be had.
Would be happy to go back under one of the deals they have. The owner is very friendly, however, needs more experienced staff. The setting is unusual and there is a TV playing Indian bollywood video hits.

We ate here a couple of weeks ago with a Cudo voucher. Scores are based on the standard menu and not the deal we received.
The food is of a fairly high quality and the service was sound. Mains were butter chicken and lamb korma. I wasn't a fan of the mango ice-cream dessert, but I am never a fan of Indian desserts.
It's not the best Indian I have had but it is certainly better than average.

We ate here yesterday for lunch and found the food to be very good and reasonably priced. The only major issue was that the waitress spoke very little English and, therefore, there was some mis-communication.
I had been here years ago, and it appears that the decor and food quality has improved. It really has a Leichhardt/real Italian type feel. The standout was the pasta which is made on site, the chocolate cake and the gelato on offer. The other hot dishes were fine but, perhaps, lacking a little in flavour.
I would have liked to try a pizza as the bases looked fantastic. Would be happy to return.

We had the 7 course degustation with the Margaret River Sauv Blanc Ouffer deal. First time to this restaurant.
The ambience is very good, the service very good, the food okay, and value is pretty good given the deal.
My criticism of the degustation would be too much seafood and too much cheese (in 3 dishes each). However, this may not be a problem for many diners. Dishes were well presented and there was sufficient food. This restaurant is probably better off refining its degustation or sticking with an a la carte menu at this point.
From my observations, those eating from the a la carte menu had food with high presentability.

This is not far from my place and yet it took me some years to visit it probably because it is never booked out. The restaurant has been there for as long as I can remember and forms part of the undefined Cremorne restaurant strip, albeit, it is the final one at the Neutral Bay end and probably suffers given it is not so close to the cinema.
While my wife was reasonably satisfied with her pizza, I must say I really enjoyed my veal dish for about $25. Overall, the meals are reasonable value. The owner is very warm and hospitable and the BYO is a certain benefit. I walk past here regularly and you can always get a table.
Overall, the food is a 6 (i.e. slightly above average), and is pretty reasonable for the price. It is a good location to meet up with friends for dinner or for a cheaper dining experience after work. I will certainly be returning because it is a good feed for a reasonable price and I can drink my own wine and I have made the fatal mistake of acquiring too much of it.

Food 7 Ambience 10 Service 9 Value 10
I preface this review by saying it relates to a voucher purchased for 4 courses with matching wines at $90 for two people. It does not relate to the usual menu or prices.
Starter was a antipasto plate of cheese, calamari, prosciutto, and salami. 9/10. Magnifico. Entree was a pasta (Spaghettini it was said but more like a vermicilli) with spanner crab and balmain bug. 10/10. Perfecto.
Main was Rabbit on steamed spinach. 4/10. Overcooked and rubbery/hard. You can't overcook rabbit and get away with it. Unfortunate, however, the waiter was prepared to get another one, but we declined as we accept their cost constraints.
Dessert was a panna cotta with vanilla bean. Very good. 8/10. Matching wines were very good and generally of a moderate-high quality.
This place has moved to the upstairs area of the Middle Harbour Yacht Club. Great views, superb location and a very good restaurant. I'd suggest it is or just about is one chef hat quality. 7/10 for food was only due to a disappointing main, but I noticed others did not suffer this fate. Except for this, would have given the food 9/10.
I hope they have similar offerings in future.
