Hard to rate this restaurant. The service was very average, fairly understaffed for what seemed to be a busy early Tuesday evening. We had a booth near the kitchen, and enjoyed hearing the orders called from the path, but that was about the best that can be said for the dining experience.

Very much "Home Style" meals. The lamb was tough, the scallops starter, whilst served with a nice dressing, were so unforgivably over cooked that they had shrunk away to rubbery bites. It's a very kid friendly restaurant, and has a great location, but nothing to rave about.

Oh Dear! What a shame! This place was a hidden treasure years ago. Sadly, it keeps the price tag, without any of the expected quality. We ordered a 2004 bottle of red, that my partner was asked to pull the cork on. It was not decanted.

The "Specials" were anything but An artchoke that was drowned and smothered, spiky and mostly inedible. Beef cheeks that were so sugared that they could have been served as a dessert. Rabbit that tasted of little more than package chicken stock.

Just..Urrgh. I do think the wait staff are enthusiastic and willing to try and raise the bar, hopefully they will get a new kitchen staff.

This is probably my favourite restaurant in Sydney. It's not a cheap night by any stretch, but worth visiting. Essences of Chocolate, and the shellfish risotto are stand outs.

Aria, Circular Quay

We have eaten here a few times. Last night was one of the most memorable dining experiences I have ever had. The parfait entree was utterly delightful, the service was fabulous, and the surprise complimentary truffled potatoes was a lovely touch.

The reputation is well deserved. Wonderful combinations of flavours, with utterly sensational service. Take a group, and fast for three days before you go, as you will need to be hungry! My only slight negative would be, that for my taste, there were a few too many raw fish dishes offered.

Look, the food is astoundingly different, and features unique, tantilising combinations. If you are going to visit this restaurant, do it as a quiet couple. Laughter is frowned upon. Do not go as a group if you are planning a special evening. It should probably be named "Sit Demurely". It is the only restaurant I have ever been to that our company has been "Growled at" by the waiter, and this has happened both times I have been there.
