My partner and I went here for the first time tonight. The food was very good at extremely good prices. We shared an entree and two mains for $30.

For this level of quality of thai food I haven't seen anything else this good value, except in Newtown.

It can be a little noisy, being open to Military Road. But that is outweighed by the quality of the food and value. If you are looking for a casual and cheap meal without sacrificing on quality this is it.

Mathew's Peacock Gardens, Crows Nest

We have been going to Mathew's for a number of years now. Whenever we try another Chinese restaurant we always compare it to Mathew's, we are yet to find one that comes close this side of the harbour. Food is excellent and service is always friendly and efficient.

We decided to try this restaurant based on a good rating on eatability.
We were seated inside, which is a bit like a crammed takeaway diner. Outside looked much better and worth trying for when you book. This place is frantic and as a result the wait staff could be more attentive. But the food is fantastic and great value.

Vineyard, The, Crows Nest

It had been about two years since we went to this place. However, we have since been twice in the last month and had a good time on both occasions.

Barramundi was cooked well on both occasions. On the first occasion the barramundi came with a vegetable terrine which, to be honest, was a little underwhelming. However, they have subsequently fine tuned the menu and overall I found the new barramundi dish (with zucchini torino and tomato carpaccio) was very good.

One of my friends had the proscuitto wrapped beef which he was mightily impressed with. Our table also had the risotto, which got a thumbs up if you like your risotto more al dente than soft and saucy.

Service is excellent, very friendly and helpful without being over the top. I'd go again.

Hotel Mosman, Mosman

We have been going to this pub for over five years now. While the "$5" steak has increased in price over the years it still represents excellent value and they now have a wider range of value meal selections. Over the years we have had some variability in the quality of steaks, but overall this is a good value establishment with good quality meals.

We went to this pub for dinner on the weekend for the first time, we thought we would try it out based on some very good reviews on this website.

We had a scotch fillet steak and the calamari and chips. The steak was cooked well but there was too much mushroom sauce and the salad was drowned in dressing. Maybe it was a one off, but the steak had too much fat on it. Even if it was a one off it wouldn't sway my overall rating of this pub.

Given how many ten out of tens this pub has received for food I was expecting a lot better. It is average pub food, good sized servings but nothing at all spectacular and IMHO a little overpriced.

When we got home I looked more closely at the reviewers giving high scores, interestingly the last four reviewers that gave 10/10 for food only have the one review on eatability.

This restaurant certainly is an experience. The menu says the restaurant was established in the 70's, I don't think they have changed the decor (or the menu) since. Very generous helpings. I wouldn't call it fine dining but that probably isn't the intent. The wait staff offer add ons like pretzels and croquettes which are both quite salty, I wouldn't get them again.

The service is very friendly. The owners humour probably isn't to everyone's taste but to his credit he seems to know when to tone it down to suit the particular customer.

The couple who run this little restaurant in Cremorne are always very friendly and welcoming. The fettuccini pollo is a highlight. Great value.

We used to go to this place now and then when it was located in Neutral Bay. We recently discovered it had started up again in Northbridge and thought we would try it out. It was more upmarket at Neutral Bay, they have replaced the suits for polos and caps. Food was a little disappointing, they seem to have gone downmarket but the prices are still upmarket.
