Iiza is a great restaurant with international quality sushi. It gets busy so Book!
The tuna sashimi tacos are ridiculous, sooo good we order one serving Each! If you pay a little extra you can get a fish only sushi which is our preference. The sake list is good and they are very knowledgeable.
It is on the pricier side (we just went to one of the besy sushi joints in NYC and it was only $30 more than what we pay at Iiza!) but if you like good quality Japanese food with a lot of variety, this is the place to go.

I'm not sure if there are new owners here but we started going to Bakerman on the recommendation of other locals at the end of last year. We were not disappointed!
The service here is exceptional, the waiters obviously have years of experience and really care about the food in your time. Nothing was too much trouble and menu items explained eloquently.
The food is great. As they are also a bakery, the bread and other items are fresh and delicious. Eggs are always perfectly cooked and other produce lovingly prepared. The big thing for me was the pot of tea, as a non-coffee drinker I often get small, piddly teapots with barely anything in them and usually poor quality tea. Not at Bakerman, I am given a huge pot of T2 Earl Grey and also offered a free hot water top up!
The seating outside is lovely in the warmer months, not sure how it will fare during winter but it gets a lot of sun so I am sure it will be fine. A fine rival to the always good but packed out Sofia up the road!

Oh how I wanted to like this place, unfortunately, I did not test the waters on eatability first.
Terrible wine list, not many options and when the waiter deigned to serve us a bottle he put it on the table, did not open or pour it! If it was BYO, fine but not at a licensed place.
My steak was $40 and came out overcooked and dry, I only ate half of it. A huge side of mash that tasted worse than my mother's. Worse stiil, the waiter did not check on our meals at all. We had finished for over 10 minutes before he cleared us!
They apologised for the bad food and gave us a bottle of wine free, which was nice. However, I will not be back. There are too many other great places like the Botany View and the Union that do way better steaks for less $$ and way better service.
The music is WSFM...the fact that they cannot be bothered to invest in decent music should have been another warning sign. Stay Away!

I love this place, really good honest food and reasonable prices. The Texan Smokey Beef is Delicious. My friends kept trying to steal some off my plate! The sevings are large and the sausages are great. It will be interesting to see how they summer-ize their menu as it strikes me as more of a winter place.

Thank god this place is back with it's rightful owners! Good prices, great food... have the raviolis as they are homemade and the chilli con carne is fab. Waiters are always friendly and attentive...more people should copy this model... it's not rocket science, it's good food and service at great prices and I love it!

Friends told me about this place and I then got a Love It Up voucher for it. I'm pretty skeptical about 'vouchers' as places will give you small portions and lackadaisical service generally. Love Grub was certainly an exception to the rule there!
Fantastic portion sizes and $5 beers we had edamame to start and then some simply wonderful prawn gyoza (could have eaten 20!). We had a lovely salmon sushi roll with tempura crunchies inside, which is something not many places do. Last I saw this done was in San Fran! We ordered an extra tuna sushi that was delectable but we definitely had too much food! The menu prices are really reasonable and the service was attentive and fun.
We will be back, probably next during the day as I hear the breakfasts are great. Thanks Love Grub, I love having a local place like you in the 'hood!

Love this place. Yes, it can get crowded on a FRI night but it's a much nicer spot than some of the over-rated bars and dingy pubs in the area. Service is outstanding. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating. Makes a change from the usual snobbery that Sydney waiters can give you! The food is awesome, I've been for lunch and tapas for dinner. Very tasty and reasonable priced as well. Try this place during the week when they have nightly specials on and it's not as busy at the weekend. You'll be pleasantly surprised!
