We were a group of six that came for breakfast. We arrived about 5 minutes before 9 am. and when we wanted to seat at a table we were told in no uncertain manner that we had to wait until openning time which was 9 am. We returned at 9 and were told to seat wherever we wanted. Our orders were taken quite promptly, but that was the end of the service. Coffee was excellent.

Food was mediocre to bad. A couple of our group had eggs benedict which had cold poached eggs with cold sauce and a few spinach leaves with smoked salmon of poor quality. Other guest had ordered poached eggs on toast and they were also overcooked and very poorly presented. Other guest had baked beans on toast and one person had just toast with tomato.

Cost was $120.00 for a breakfast that was apart from the coffee awful. The only saving grace of this place is the location which is sublime, shame about the senior staffs of this restaurant and how they run it. We shall not return and we definitely will not recommend.

We were a group of 7 on Saturday night and had a wonderful evening. It was Sydney's hottest night in many years, and the air conditioning could barely cope, but the staff did their upmost to make us feel welcome and enjoy the night. Ciccio made a point of coming to our table and introducing himself and having a chat. We were offerred nice complimentary herb bread to start which was delicious. We shared 5 entrees and they were all excellent and in large portions.

Of the 7 mains, we would like to comment especially on the seafood risotto which was superb, and the veal pizzaiola which was excellent. The serves were so generous that although we would have liked to sample the desserts we did not. We were given complimentary limoncello which was a lovely touch and it was delicious. At the last minute we gave in and two of us had the best affogattos ever (ice cream with frangelico and coffee). All in all a great night and we will definitely return.

We are locals and eat Japanese food regularly. We visited Ainoya with friends that dine at Ainoya often and recommended the restaurant. We were very disappointed with the experience. Our friends that dine there often were also extremely disappointed and embarrassed as they had suggested the restaurant as being excellent.

We all had the mixed entree which was good, but not excellent. The sashimi was limited and not the best we have had. Our main concern was the main. We all had the wagyu fillet steak. First the meal arrived and when tasting the steak it was stone cold. We called the waitress and she took it away. There was quite a waiting time before we got our mains back. She mentioned that the dish was being remade so we understood.

When the beef was served again, the rice that had been left at the table was stone cold and no offer was given to replace it. The meat of the second serving was very rare we requested medium rare) but worse of all it was tough. Now Wagyu beef from all our experience has always been very tender. We all left half of our serves. Our meal was $170.00 which included $14.00 for corkage.

Needless to say it was a very mediocre meal, for a high price. As well as writing this review we intend calling the restaurant to let them know our views.
