We ate here for dinner on a not so busy Friday evening and we were greeted with lovely and friendly staff. The food was cooked quite well and the cold noodles were refreshing. We even had a pianist play a few songs while we dined! It's a small restaurant and although slightly expensive it's well worth the price if you enjoy the more intimate atmosphere and pretty decent Korean food.

Typical chinese restaurant. Let me explain: +very tasty food, +complimentary chicken soup, +food to table pretty fast, noisy, average food presentation, average service (good if you can speak Cantonese though), poor decor.

Actually the best tasting thing on the menu was not on the menu, the satay sauce! I'd go here again seeing that Church St doesn't really have much else on offer. Go for the food, primarily for the food.

Three of us ordered the ribs sampler, signature ribs dish, and ribs with chicken. The sauce was okay, nothing special, and the chicken was dry. The coleslaw salads were average. The ribs themselves were quite tasty, though they were abit on the cold side. Also, the waitress charged us for dessert even though it was actually another table's bill, but she quickly corrected her mistake.

Ambience was great, and romantic. Had a nice 'American steakhouse' look to the place. Dishes were alittle on the pricey side, but overall it was a satisfying quick fix to dinner, but I think there are better options out there. Will be willing to try out their steaks if we're in a similiar situation again (a 'popular' steakhouse was booked out hence we decided to try Tony Romas).

We come here once a week, week by week. Why? Well simply because the food portions are generous, the presentation looks great and the taste is fresh and flavoursome. The prices have increased but you are still getting your moneys worth especially with the soup noodle dishes compared to other restaurants.

Unfortunately, the staff may not be so attentive simply because they are so busy, but they'll have your divine attention once you've called on them. The range of dishes here are not limited to Vietnamese soup noodle (pho), but their cantonese dishes (fried rice noodle with beef, etc.) are equally satisfying. They also have pad thai and other Thai dishes but I recommend their Viet/Chinese dishes as the staff are most familiar with these dishes.

Also, some people say the pho soup base is abit bland but I reckon this is because they don't overload the soup with msg and oils like other restaurants do. When the restaurant is full, however, it can be quite noisy, almost deafining. This is true to all vibrant chinese restaurants so I don't see this as a negative. Bring your family/mates to this place an hour before peak (say 12 pm-6 pm) and you'll be guaranteed quick and hassle free service and an atmosphere you can relax to. Highly recommended!

We, two friends, decided to try out this new place for lunch. The process is simple, pick, order and pay for your meal at the front counter, then choose a seat with your table number. Complimentary chilled water is available at your disposal. The burgers worked out to be roughly $15 each on average, and the size of the burgers varied, granted we were deeply satisfied by the portions of our meals (no side dishes, no drinks apart from water, and no desserts were ordered).

My friend's chorizo burger looked tantalizing and my Aussie beef and bacon burger with avo was very tasty, fresh produce with plenty of salad within the burger. The burgers came quickly, though there wasn't much of service. I think if you want to order more items you have to go back to the counter or call the waitress. The ambience was quiet and relaxed, though outside sitters may have to endure passbyers and traffic.

In closing, Moo Gourmet Burgers is highly recommended, and we look forward to visiting this new and tasty place again!

Restaurants, Chinese, Noodle Bar, BYO, Serves Late Dining

Overall 5.8  61

3.8 Below Average

Based on past experiences with this restaurant, we decided to go again especially for its renowned Congee. Unfortunately, this time around not only did it seem much more expensive, but the service was even worse (it simply 'existed' before)
and the quality of the food itself was ultimately affected by the service.

Each dish averages out at $15, with the deep fried squid now costing $20, which tasted quite ordinary because it wasn't fried long enough. The chicken congee was, as expected, quite tasty and their other hot dishes were pretty tasty too. Unfortunately, we had a nightmare with the fried icecream. Only one out of the four ordered left the kitchen and as we were concerned that they may have forgotton our order, the other three came shortly after.

Needless to say the batter was burnt and the use of neopolean icecream was a poor choice given that it isn't as solid as a scoop of vanilla. The batter was burnt and much of the icecream was melted! We know service isn't big in a chinese restaurant but when it affects the food (fried icecream coming late) and being slightly rude about it did give a bad impression of this place. Lesson learnt. Go there for congee and congee only.
