A little pretentious and extremely overpriced. The front of house reluctantly allowed us to dine after we explained we did not have a reservation and made us linger at the door for 5 minutes whilst he attempted to accommodate us, this was despite the dining room being close to empty and us only needing a table for 2.

The lunch menu selection is quite limited and uneventful. Service was extremely slow, we were forced to ask and re-ask wait staff for assistance in getting our meals to the table. The food is fresh but that is expected for Japanese cuisine, overall quality is mediocre and overpriced for the portion size. The wine list was outrageously expensive. I will not be returning.

Being a Newtown native where you can get some of the best Thai in Sydney, this little restaurant is right up there with the big guns. The food is divine, the service friendly and prompt and all at a fraction of the price you get in the inner city. Would definitely recommend that lovers of Thai give this place a go, you will not be disappointed.

If you are after a big hearty meal, free entertainment, great beer and friendly service, the Lowenbrau is the place to go. Great Sunday afternoon haunt. My husband and I dine here regularly and absolutely love this place. The spetzle and ghoulash are divine, the pork knuckle is also a winner. Absolutely recommend.

Went here for Father's Day Lunch. Given you would expect the restaurant to be busy on such a day, management only had two waitresses on duty. Service was a bit slow. The food is extremely overpriced and the pizzas are quite oily. Nice garden dining area but the music piping through the speakers was bizarre..... it went from traditional Irish tunes to Abba. I do not think we will be back any time soon.

Have eaten at this restaurant a few times mainly for work functions. The serving portions are extremely large and well priced. The menu is traditional Italian but the food is quite bland and not up to the standard served in most trattorias across Sydney. The majority of wait staff are not helpful or pleasant, you often have to follow up orders and wait forever for the bill. The decor is a bit tacky and the ambience is poor. I would prefer to visit a traditional trattoria and eat real Italian food even if it costs a bit more.

This is the only Thai takeout we will order. The food is always cooked to perfection and extremely tasty. Definitely recommend the chicken satay and the beef with mushrooms The serving portions are very large and well priced compared to other Thai places in Newtown. Home delivery is prompt and food is always warm. The only criticism would be that the phone is always manned by people with very poor English making it very difficult to communicate what you want to order especially if you have special food needs.

This Napalese restaurant is an all time favourite of ours, it is a true hidden treasure of Newtown. The food is aromatic and extremely tasteful, the tomato archar and the pork dumplings are divine. The portion sizes are adequate and reasonably priced. The owner and his family provide outstanding service and are always attentive and friendly. The restaurant rarely has more than 2 or 3 tables seated, making it ideal for an intimate night with your partner. The only criticism would be that the menu is quite limited and the specials rarely change. I thoroughly recommend this dining experience.
