Ate at Becasse a couple of weeks ago to celebrate my partner's 30th birthday. Had the vegetarian degustation with matched wines, $180 per person. It was absolutely fantastic. Every course was just amazing. It was a long meal, we were there well over 3 hours, but I wouldn't want to eat that much in the same time as I would eat 3 courses! It was so relaxed and enjoyable.
The service was great, very attentive but at no point did you feel like you were being watched or hurried. The wait staff were also very knowledgeable about the food and wines they were serving. I was really full by the end, which was a shame as I couldn't finish my dessert, the banana creme brulee!
The restaurant is very intimate and comfortable. The only thing I don't like is the way restaurants like these are always so full of business diners, but that's not really the restaurant's fault. Fortunately, most of the tables immediately around us seemed to be other non-business diners like us, and we were so engaged with the meal that we didn't really notice that much around us!
I went for a 10 for value. Yes it is a very expensive meal, but the quality of the food was simply fantastic and it was great to be able to try so many interesting wines we wouldn't normally buy! It was a wonderful evening and I felt as though it was worth every penny.

I decided to give Atom Thai a go after reading the reviews on here, as I was searching for new recommendations on King Street for dinner with a friend. I was so impressed on my first visit, I took my partner back to celebrate our anniversary there a couple of weeks later!
The first time, we shared two prawn dishes (one was the curry that comes in a coconut, a novelty as well as being delicious!), and the second time, we went for the black pepper squid and a tofu dish. All the food was fantastic, the flavours were really fresh and the portions were generous without being overwhelming.
The service was excellent. The waiters managed the perfect level of attentiveness without being intrusive, and were outstandingly polite and helpful in explaining dishes to us.
Also, upon noticing we were drinking sparkling wine, the waiter immediately went to change our wine glasses for champagne glasses, which was a really nice touch.
The restaurant itself is cosy, but you don't feel cramped and even when busy it still has a calm, relaxed feel.
Atom Thai is not the cheapest restaurant in the area, but in terms of what it offers I think it is good value for money. If you compare it to the other similar thai restaurants it is roughly the same anyway. On both occasions my companions and I left feeling happy, relaxed and sated by the delicious food. I hope to be returning soon!

I've never eaten a full meal here but the desserts and dip platter they do are really good. I enjoy stopping in for a drink if I'm shopping along King Street. It's a nice place to sit and the service is friendly and relaxed. I also had the nicest milkshake I've ever drunk in there yesterday!

Had breakfast here this morning (about 11 am on a saturday) with my boyfriend, we don't live in the area but were passing through and it looked nice from the outside.
I had the vegetarian breakfast (egg, avocado, mushrooms, tomato on sourdough toast) and was pretty impressed, especially as not all cafes offer a veggie version of a full cooked breakfast. My boyfriend had apple and cinnamon bread which he enjoyed.
The food plus two juices came to $20, which seemed pretty good value. The staff seemed pretty friendly and it was a nice place to sit, quiet bright and comfortable. I would definitely return if I am in the area again.

I must admit Well Connected is not always my first choice of cafe in Glebe, but I am quite happy here if I can't get a table elsewhere on a busy Saturday afternoon. Service can be a bit lacklustre, but they often are busy and with the cafe divided into various sections by walls and stairs, it must be hard to keep track of everyone.
Sometimes the cafe and counter area in particular can look a bit grubby, but it's cosy and comfortable, and the food is fresh, well cooked and well presented, even though it, perhaps, doesn't have the finer touches of some neighbouring establishments. The mixed berry smoothie is delicious every time.

Even though I am not local to Glebe I am a regular here. I love the ambience, service is usually quick and friendly and the food and drink is great. I particularly recommend the bagels, which are pretty good value for money, the dips are great and the frappes and chai are amazing. The chef's salads off the specials board are also usually fantastic, too.

I seem to end up here every time I have something to celebrate! I love the decor and the waiting staff are really excellent. They are incredibly knowledgeable about all the dishes and ingredients, as well as the wine list. Service seems slightly more laid back in the later sitting, but I have never felt rushed during the earlier sitting, everything arrives with perfect timing. Don't bother with BYO (expensive corkage) as the wine list is excellent.
I would give it 10 for food if based on the starters and desserts alone. However, the last time I went, I didn't feel that my main course was quite up to the same standard, although still very good. Desserts in particular are amazing. My partner's parents recently visited from the UK and we took them here to celebrate his mother's birthday and they had a great time!
