We have just had our third visit to Ottoman Cuisine. This was the first time for lunch, and the sun on the harbour was a great backdrop to great tasting and nicely presented food. Our party had duck, beef and veal mains; all different and interesting. The meze starter is a standout, with 6 different dips. Service was helpful though rather overstretched among too many tables.

I had lovely food, including celeriac soup, roast pork and poached quince. Each was like a refinement of traditional comfort food, but with sparkling twists or additions that made it quite sophisticated. The staff were very helpful in adjusting dishes for a companion with food restrictions, and they even provided crayons for our infant to draw with. At the $55 mid-week cost for 3 courses, this was really good value given the quality.

Lily's is a tiny space, but with a number of tables street-side. There are several interesting-sounding pizzas (which we did not try) as well as the traditional kebabs and "pot dishes", all having fairly small amounts of meat but served with large amounts of saffron rice. We tried one kebab and 3 pots, the flavours were all interesting, and quite different from one another (or from what one gets in other cuisines).

The standout dish for us was chicken with walnuts and pomegranate, called "fesenjan". Afterwards, the saffron and pistachio icecream is essential! At less than $20 per main, this is very reasonable value.
