Went here the day before Mother's Day and my mother and I were very pleased with the quality of the food. We had the polenta, the ginger dumplings and the falafel plate. The polenta was perfectly panfried, crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside with lots of fresh watercress and lovely sauce/dressing. The dumplings tasted fresh and light inside with a good hit of ginger. I wanted more. Much more.
The falafel plate was my least favourite of the three but the betel leaves for wrapping were a great idea. The sauce and pineapple salsa thing that it was paired with seemed out of place and I found myself craving a hummus or something to cream it up a little.
The service was laid back and friendly and we weren't hassled to order more or to leave once we were finished. It's great to see a vegetarian place that doesn't serve up the same boring stuff.

Went here on Saturday morning before the drive back to Sydney. With the long drive ahead of us and the cold mountain air we wanted a hearty meal that would top off our great Leura experience.
The service was pretty good and attentive, and we got a good table at the front overlooking the beautiful trees, even though we had about 4 different waitresses asking us what we would like.
The food, and presentation, was really not up to much at all and was on par with what I would expect a service station to serve me. I ordered the vegetarian breakfast and requested no eggs but extra mushrooms in their place. My girlfriend ordered the same but with eggs (unchanged from the menu).
Keep in mind that this is costing us $16 Each - My plate came with the same amount of mushrooms, tomato and spinach as my girlfriend's meal. The 2 pieces of tomato were soggy and tasted and looked as if they were cooked in the microwave, the mushrooms were a handful (7 or 8) tiny button mushrooms.
The 'baguette' was an eighth of one of those long Woolworths french sticks. The whole thing was served with a rocket salad with what I think was seafood sauce? Who serves a rocket salad at breakfast? Seafood sauce should just never be used. Ever. At all.
I ate most of mine because I was starving but my girlfriend ate about 4 mushrooms and left it. I never complain at restaurants but I did when I was leaving. The woman at the counter was lovely, apologetic and asked what was wrong with it and gave us a pretty good discount.
I still won't be returning here on my next trip to the old Mountains!

Came here on Friday night with my girlfriend for her birthday after a recommendation from the owner of a vintage store down the road. We were visiting from Sydney and were happy to find such a well decorated and cool restaurant with lots of vegetarian options. We had the broccolini and asparagus which were perfectly cooked and crunchy and delicious.
We also had crispy kipfler potatoes, also fantastic with a delicious mildly spicy coating. They weren't too crispy but that didn't make them any less tasty! We also had a pizza and the chef was accommodating in making half without cheese due to dietary requirements. By far the best food I've had in the Blue Mountains.
The let down was the service. We were bailed up by an older, unfriendly male waiter several times for our order within 2 minutes of receiving menus. I ordered a glass of wine which took about 10 minutes to arrive while I watched 2 tables who had arrived after us receive their drink orders. When we finally were ready to order he was no where to be seen and we had to catch the eye of another waitress.
The food was Great but the waitstaff need to take a class in "How to be Friendly to Paying Customers."

My girlfriend and I went to Peasant's Feast last Thursday night after a long time of wanting to try it. The waiter was a middle aged guy who was pleasant enough but had no clue about the food he was serving. Being a vegan I asked him what was vegan on the menu, he did not know. He then said "what does vegan mean, no dairy?" I then asked if the vegetarian platter was vegan and he went through the things on the list and said "that's got no vegan in it." I said "no, vegan is not an ingredient."
None of this would have bothered me if the menu didn't explicitly boast suitability for vegans.
We ordered the dips and bread for entree. The bread was at least a day old, the dips were each about the size of a generous teaspoon and were pretty much bland and watery, except for the beetroot dip which tasted entirely of garlic. There was an over use of lemon and an under use of flavour in the vegetarian platter. Their idea of "wholesome and healthy food" is just to roast vegetables whole and put them next to inedible red cabbage, undercooked rice and a really really weird, also inedible, brown sauce. The potato rosti was a soggy square the size of a small post-it note.
My girlfriend's gnocchi was actually Ok aside from being poorly presented and stodgy. I know peasants don't eat well but I didn't really take the name literally when we decided to eat there. We will not be going there again as there are plenty more vegetarian and vegan-friendly restaurants on King Street with delicious and reasonably priced food.
