Chef Klaus is an amazing cook. The duck is truly amazing. The Scotch Fillets is not far behind and the schnitzels always good. Lord forbids you have more than four people though. His staffs often get confused when going there in larger groups. One can however excuse it when the meals hit your tongue. The food can be quite costly but boy it is worth the very few extra bucks.

The White City tennis club is worn yes, but it has a sort of charming old nostalgic feel to it. Not sure where the old honour boards went. Cheap honour boards are no replacement. Drinks are cheap and the balcony is great in summer. There is lots of parking. It's a great place to meet in a secluded sort of environment.

Una's is not always the perfect dining experience but one doesn't go there for that.

I go there for a hearty European feed during the winter. The schnitzels are tasty and large. 1 in 5 aren't the best but I am willing to take that risk. Good value breakfasts and desserts too. Choice of German and Austrian beers. I recommend it.

We have eaten at other Thai Riffic's and the portion size here did not seem as generous as another Thai Riffic we have been to. The curry was nice but not enough curry sauce. Its good to see more competition in Double Bay with Asian food. We go the strip now knowing if we can't get into here we can get into others situated locally.

Thai Riffic is slightly more expensive than your average Thai. The portions were generous the night we visited and the atmosphere good except for a freezing draft from doors left wide open. They keep them open to air the open kitchen. Pop over the road for a bottle of vino at the Bottle Shop. We'll go back.

Betty's is great for a quick feed. I would not go there to impress people or finer dining. Just a handy quick feed when in the area during the day. The soup, nachos and bread were good value for the price. The waiter was distant and unfriendly until we discussed the music playing ie Olivia Newton John. His whole demeanourchanged when my wife said she was a fan.

Had a lovely meal here. Very crowded on a Friday night. Service was quite slow but the meal made up for it. I'd go with the Vegetarian fare or pre-made Mossaka before having one of their steaks - which I heard wasn't the best value. Overall, not a bad experience. I would consider going there again.

Good place for a quick Pizza during the day if you can't be bothered with the crowded and pricey surrounding Italian restaurants. For a drink or two at night, it's OK. Not the sort of place you hang all night though. If you think a pretty bar maid might want to join you after her shift, think again. I have had friends who have worked there and they are warned off being a patron. It is forbidden. The management is apparently scared that staff will syphon free drinks.

Steak was OK and mussels were awful. Iguana is ok for value and cheap compared to other Kellet Street eateries.

Sheaf is OK. But only just. My patience is truly wearing thin with it. If it were not for the fact it's been my local for over 20 years, I would have gone permanently elsewhere years back. I used to go weekly but now only go there monthly. The food is over priced. The staff (mainly bar staff) are often rude. It seems to be a male thing. I was recently accused by one of the restaurant staff of lying when I said I got very little sour cream on my wedges - they thought I siphoned it off somewhere - LOL. The young staff are rude and inattentive. A barman also accused me of lying. They decided to withdraw beer jugs from use one day as they often do when it gets busy - a $$$ thing?? I had been buying jugs all afternoon and I asked for another. The barman said they don't have them and haven't had them in a long while. I said I just got one 20 minutes back.

What ever happened to publicans that cared. Disagree with staff and they get aggressive in an instant. The beer is overpriced which is a joke because Hoteliers argue Pokie rooms subsidise drinks. I think the publican here must be lining pockets, not rewarding a loyal longstanding patronage. I'm not sure who interviews for new staff here but quality employees only comes with a quality interviewer. Go to the Sheaf only when you run out of ideas of where else to go locally.

Always great Steak and Ribs. I recommend the Mussels in white wine garlic sauce too - I normally have the tomato but have now made the change to white wine. Garlic prawns are delicious but you have too much peeling to do. I recommend missing the crowds and going for a Sunday brunch about 11.30. Hardly anyone there and the service is outstanding.
