Pork Dumplings are delicious as was the rest of the food we ordered. The table "booking" system seems slightly random but seems to work but just be prepared for a bit of a wait. My only "complaint" is that although its BYO the speed of service and table turnaround means we'd only had one glass each out of our bottle of wine before we had the bill on our table. Maybe cut back on the $5 corkage fee?

Was a party of 18 who visited here last Saturday. Once it arrived the food was fantastic, if a little heavy on rice and we were sat waiting for over 45 minutes for our mains. In their defence the restaurant was busy and we were a big table!
All in all a good night out with tasty food, just don't go there if you are in a hurry.

We went here on Saturday evening and had a wonderful time! The staff were helpful and attentive and our waitress was really helpful guiding us on how much of everything to order for our table of ten. Great location and sitting out on the balcony on a warm evening was fabulous. Will definitely be back!

Now that they have opened up the back part of The National you no longer have the battle for a table. Although this has taken away some of the "fun" it does make the experience a lot less stressful. Unfortunately, the back bar does lack something in ambience and lacks the hussle and bussle of the front bar, but if you are looking for decent food at reasonable prices then the National is still the place to go.

After a shaky start where we were shown to our table and then offered a "better" table that wasn't ready so were left to stand in a corridor for ten minutes, things definitely got better!

The service and food were impeccable, and I agree with others reviewers with regards to the pork belly. This is a dining experience at its best, from no menus and having to concentrate when being told what is on offer to being able to bring your own wine with no corkage, this restaurant gets it right all the way. Highly recommend!

Get here early! We arrived at 6.15 on a Friday and were the last people to get a table for the early sitting, everyone behind us were told 8.30. This is a very cool little place with a fantastic wine list and we thoroughly enjoyed the tapas style menu. It's busy and it's hectic but the staff were attentive and knew what they were talking about. Would recommend it if you are in the mood for good wine and a distraction of food!!!

Christo's has long been a favourite for me and I am very sorry to say in recent months the quality of this Paddington restaurant has gone down hill...fast. The main reason for this is the service.

Our last visit resulted in half our starters being delivered after the mains and the mains arriving before the other half of the starters had been cleared. We had to wait for glasses to be provided for our BYO wine and after asking three times for more water just gave up. The waitress smiled a lot but was completely useless when it came to actually providing us with a decent night out. The food is still good and its great value for money but come on Christos, we all know you can do better.

We normally get takeaway from the Rose Bay Thai Riffic but wanted a meal out so opted for Double Bay. We arrived early so were immediately seated and then were surprised at how quickly the restaurant filled up on a Tuesday night.

The food is excellent, fresh ingredients and well presented. Service is quick and efficient and as it's BYO it ends up being very good value. Would highly recommend.

Pinos is a great cheap and cheerful local Italian. The food is tasty and the portions decent. I would particularly recommend the pesto, parmesan & pine nut pizza slices. The staff seem to be in a state of constant bewilderment about what is happening and we had to correct our waitress on a couple of occasions but nothing that spoilt the evening. Good place for a group of friends to eat and be merry, particularly as it's BYO!

Darcy's is an education in old school, effortless dining. The Maitre'd is a very entertaining gentleman who obviously knows his stuff. The food is simple, delicious and well presented.

The restaurant itself is quite conservative with everyone talking in hushed tones so don't expect to be dancing on the tables...but that's not what Darcy's is about. The wine list is extensive, combine that with the food and service, and you are in for a very civilised dining experience.
