We had the 6 courses for $60 early bird special on a Sunday evening.
The restaurant offers nice ambience, great service, and offers delicious cocktails.
Fancy menu with French infused ingredients and cooking. Overall satisfied but personally I'm not a big fan of fusion dishes, especially the excessive foam they use on plate.
I would recommend to dine at Waqu, for special occasion or just simple enjoy the Jap-French fushioned food.

We used a JumpOnIt voucher for two people. Booking is hard to get because of their voucher deals, but we came in on Thursday night and not too packed. Nice ambience, very spacious and the waitresses try to spread out the sitting so each group gets some 'private space'.

Entree started with a Tuna Tartar, simple but just the right taste to start the meal. The fried gyoza is tasty, however could be more crispy. Salmon tataki is a sashimi plate, a must have in a Japanese meal. The highlight is the tempura.

The main offers a selection of combination of meat+miso+rice, standard Korean style of stired friend with chilli/terriyaki sauce. Green tea and black seaseme ice cream is a good finish of the meal.

Overall satisfied with service and food. The menu (not on voucher) is reasonable priced in Surry Hill district, althought the restaurant's location is disadvantaged because it's part of a complex.

Some reviews mentioned about bad service and not authentic Japanese food. I disagreed. Be prepared for a busy night if you're going in with vouchers. This is a modern Jap restaurant, you should expect the standard of food by this nature.
