For those who don't know, a griddle is an extremely hot cast iron pan. They have a good option of breakfast here but the most appealing is the griddle.
Coffee was smooth and the correct temperature but weak.

The griddle which I ordered was placed in front of my partner and his in front of me. It's extremely awkward moving scalding hot plates around on breadboards.
The baked beans could have been more generous but the food was delicious none the less. Not a cramped cafe like most city ones.

We went here because it was in the 2012 Good Food Guide. I called about 5 times in the space of 2 hours, and left an hour after my last call. Turned up at 7pm Saturday night. Was told they were full, but could sit in the *Rain* if we wanted service, because we didn't book. I told them I had called a number of times and the receptionist shrugged at me. Another old couple were sitting outside in the rain and the gas heaters were not turned on for them.

We brought our own bottle of wine so asked for the ice bucket and were not brought glasses. We were asked what we wanted to order, (which everything was overpriced) and ordered the bread to start and asked to look at the cold mezze tray.

We were brought the tray by a woman who was less than impressed that we wanted to order something with meat in it. Mind you, we were sitting in the rain with an umbrella which didn't do its job properly.

30 minutes later, no one came, and the bread did not come. We had seen 3 waitresses and there were empty tables inside and we were not asked if we'd like to go inside.

By this time a man and his child were told they could only eat ice cream inside but other food they had to eat outside. The man and a waiter were yelling at each other. Terrible.

Finally, 40 minutes after seeing the mezze tray, a male waiter asked if we'd like to see the cold mezze tray. I advised we were leaving as we'd already seen it and no one had come to take our order 40 minutes ago.

We were given a dirty look and a poor "sorry" apology. Would not recommend to anyone. Answer your phones and pick up your service! Should not be in the good food guide!

Good food, excellent view (when the giant boats aren't in the way) excellent atmosphere, however, service is not their fine point.

Service (all food/drinks) is at the bar, it's hard to get anyone's attention and they will happily stand behind you waiting for you to finish your food so they can take away your plate in a hurry, but act kind of standoffish if they will place an order that isn't at the bar.

Loved it, except for the staff.

Drinks are always good. Not shy on the alcohol either. Food. I usually order a pizza or the steak with salad at lunch.

The steak no matter what price is always a hit and miss, either way overlooked or undercooked. Also sometimes extremely hard to chew. Cannot get gravy with this, only a $3 watery "red wine" jus, which tastes terrible. They seem to think Dijon mustard is hot English here too.

Service is usually attentive when you ask for it. I found it hard to find waitstaff who would look at anyone for you to grab their attention. Any other dish than the above mentioned is usually bland, especially the chicken. It never comes out at the same time. However, they never get the pizza wrong or late.

Now I'm not sure of the rules but they Choose to split bills somedays and then other days rudely tell us, that they don't. When they split bills I found only one waitress knew how and actually whinged about it. It's not hard to assign 4 identical meals and identical drinks to 4 people.

Love the location, and the lights that are on outside at night. They made a good choice here.

They usually are not quick enough at lunch when you order the express churrassco. Usually very busy toward the end of the week.

Braza also serves breakfast here. Was handed a flyer but nothing seemed to catch my eye. Always very loud, even with music. Love the table set outs especially the ones outside which are perfect in the sun.

Service is always attentive. Food is excellent for Braza, but they could put less of rock salt on their meats.

Really good coffee, service is unswaying if you get the good baristas. Always happy and talkative. I go here everyday. Their baguettes are a bit pricey but are usually good on quality.. (pork belly and Brie cheese).

Ambience is ok at times, usually they have popular music pumping very loud which seems a bit off as its got the design of a folky cafe.

I have had a few hiccups with staff (who are not the regulars) who get my order wrong or have even forgotten to take my money, but this has been quickly remedied by a senior member of staff.

Don't leave it up to the waiters to come up to your table, otherwise, you will never get to eat. Not much variety other than coffee and fresh juice for drinks. The water and kiddy plastic cups they serve their tap water are a turn off. Water is always warm and tastes strange.

On the plus side, breakfast is amazing. Our local Sunday breakfast haunt. I always get the big breakfast or quesadillas. Generous servings. I like the atmosphere being a busy newtown (though in enmore) cafe. The posters and post cards are always a conversation starter. The bus stop outside gives it more customers (like myself) as you drive past every morning. However, the shady characters outside waiting for buses sometimes make me wary.

A little pricey, but the big servings make up for it. My partner has a bottomless pit of a stomach and can not finish his breakfast most of the time here.

My partner and I ordered a plunger coffee, French toast, Poached egg and bacon roll and an apple juice. Equalled $15 each. The coffee had enough for 3 serves! The server started helped to add to another order during mine when I ordered at the register. Coffee came after my food was finished. Very good atmosphere inside but lots of traffic ruined it for the outside. Loved the coffee and the food, though small portions. May visit again on another Sunday morning.
