What a cute little joint! Heard there was a new cook in town so I thought I'd better revisit La Sangria, and it is still wonderful joyous food. The prawns were to die for. I thoroughly enjoyed it, maybe because it's the peasant in me.

"I love the rustic charm of this restaurant. It's full of life and you can almost taste it in the homely food. There was fun to be had with the staff and in the end it felt like a night out in the theatre. If you love a loud joyful ambience, then this is it. Plus the range of food (it even has ribs!) makes it all the better."

That was my first review in late 2010. I went back recently to see if they have dropped their game... But they are still full of surprises!

It was like going out to a special home dinner cooked by mamma, and the vibrant atmosphere added that extra joy to the homely food. When you go to La Casa, you don't need to go anywhere else afterwards, because the party is right there.

It is so handy to have a decent restaurant so close to home. For me it is just a walk down the road for a pleasant meal. On the first few visits it took a while for the main dishes to come out, but it is worth the wait. Since then, the service has improved. But being it a very small room, it can get loud. If you live locally and want to be spoilt without having to head for the City, then Feltons will make you feel like you are living it up at some fine dining City cuisine.

Cedars At The Rocks, North Rocks

Just what boring suburbia needed, a decent international flavoured restaurant from the Middle East. Very simple Lebanese dishes served fresh, as if mum is in the kitchen cooking it up. The host is tentative and there for your every needs. I have already been there a few times and my last visit coincided with another large Middle Eastern family having a party, and the atmosphere was electrifying with loud Middle eastern music, children having fun and the adults living it up. This vibrant atmosphere made me feel as if I was in some faraway exotic land.

I don't mind loud places but this was a noisy place. But the delicious food is worth it. As for the service, well, it was busy with minimal staff. If you love a noisy vibrant atmosphere with perfect food and you can put up with the lack of attention to detail in service, then this is the place for you.

I have been there twice over the past few months, only because I enjoyed the fresh food, but mostly because I loved the location. My recommendation is to do a luncheon on a clear sunny Spring day and sit outside. You will not be disappointed by the view and location. And my trick to every restaurant is to smile and be courteous to the staff and they will return the service in abundance. Price could be a slight problem, but then again, you are paying for the location.

What a surprise! On the recommendation of a friend I travelled from my home town of Carlingford to Terry Hills and discovered this little gem. It has a wonderful homestead feel to it and I loved how the bar was separated from the main dining area. The food was of the highest quality and the service very professional. I believe this establishment has come a long way and will improve. I'll be back for that!
